Hotel Főnix is a 13-room hotel at Hunyadi János út 2, just above Széchenyi tér, built on top of what is billed as Pécs's first pizzeria, opened in 1984. Rooms are simple, and the draw is the location: the Mosque Church and the main square are a minute away. It's a mainstream hotel, not a gay venue; Pécs has no gay bar or sauna, so the city's queer calendar is really Pécs Pride in September or October. Its old website no longer loads, so book through the usual platforms.

English: We visited the city of Pécs with my family (6 people) for the first time and stayed at the Phoenix Hotel for 3 nights with breakfast included. The professional, kind, and polite staff definitely deserve a 5-star rating, as they always went above and beyond to help us with our enquiries, assist with car parking, recommend nearby restaurants, and take care of anything related to our room. It would be wonderful if they could receive one more star in the future, as I can genuinely recommend this place to anyone who would like to have an amazing and lasting experience. The hotel is located in the heart of the city "Pécs", with very kind, young and helpful staff, a very pleasant and comfortable air-conditioned room that awaited us and awaits everyone.
