X Hostel Bucharest

They're very nice and very kind persons.. I appreciate the way they treat people.. I absolutely love the place ❤️ I want to add the names of two persons of the stuff that I really liked them (Miguel and Berna) They're amazing 😍

The receptionist with the British accent definitely doesn't enjoy her job and doesn't like dealing with people. She doesn't know how to be kind, she doesn't know how to smile, she doesn't know how to be friendly. Another factor is that Hostel World's policy is very clear in the app regarding payment by card. If they don't have an extra machine to process payments, they shouldn't transfer this responsibility, which is theirs, to the guest. Luckily, I only booked one night. I don't recomend

The first night started off fine, the receptionist took 40 minutes to check me in because it was his first day but at least he was nice. The second day things got worse… a woman in my room would walk around naked which was uncomfortable, there was an old man passed out on the kitchen table from drinking who then broke the glass and spilled it all over himself, the bathrooms smelled really bad and the showers were visibly dirty with weird stains, and on my last day the cleaner was rude to me, as I was getting my things to leave she shouted at me ‘get out!’ Checking out was also a nightmare, I had to wait 50 minutes with guests cutting in the line for the receptionist to ask me my name and then say I could just go. AND I bought these really nice cakes for my family which I put in the fridge IN ITS PACKAGE and someone ate them. it was really disappointing, the vibe was tense and uncomfortable but at least there were three nice guests I met.

The hostel entrance isn't from the main entrance, where the hostel logo is, but from the back, on a different street. A towel is provided. Clean sheets (which was very important to me), and a comfortable mattress. The cleanliness varies. Generally, it's cleaned, but the bathroom is a bit neglected, with some mildew and dirt on the baseboards and shower door. The bedside area is similarly clean – the sheets are clean, but the area next to the bed is full of dust, clearly not cleaned regularly. The breakfast area is quite small, with a small round table and four chairs. Breakfast, for us, was quite late, starting at 8:30, so we skipped it on the second day. The breakfast was modest, considering the number of people staying at the hostel; I'm not sure if there was enough for everyone. There are shared kitchenettes, so you can also prepare your own meals. The rooms are locked with a combination lock, which sometimes changes, so you have to ask reception for a new code. Lockers are available in the room. There's a slightly unpleasant, stuffy smell in the room and bathrooms. I recommend it as a place to stay for 1-2 nights. Of course, it's best to have earplugs and an eye mask - as you would in a dorm room.

I had an amazing time staying here with my friends. Rooms were super clean and comfy and spacious. I loved my other roommates. The whole place felt very safe and friendly. The front desk guy, Alan, was extremely kind and helpful and went out of his way to support us. Also it’s very affordable. Definitely would recommend.
