Raza Madrid Barquillo

In just two visits, it has become one of my three favorite restaurants in Madrid. The ambiance and decor of the three distinct areas of the dining room are excellent. If you need absolute privacy, the tables might not be as far apart as you'd like, but the overall feeling is very pleasant and spacious. The service from both the waiters (all of them) and the restaurant manager is outstanding. They are meticulous about timing and details, providing speed and efficiency. The menu offerings are excellent and varied, although on this second visit, I arrived with very clear ideas. I started with Wagyu tataki with Padrón peppers (exquisite preparation and flavor) and grilled bone marrow (a must for those who appreciate the essence of the bone); and a 700g Finnish Ayrshire Sashi ribeye steak. Spectacular. Everything else disappeared, leaving behind magnificent sensations… All of this was accompanied by a Ribera del Duero that never disappoints with a good steak: the 2021 special selection from Abadía Retuerta. The wine list offered other equally valid options and was quite comprehensive. There's no need to go overboard with a wine list that leaves the customer feeling lost. There are options to discover the always surprising wines from some Denominations of Origin that improve every year. And then there are the wines that simply "have to be there." I didn't order dessert to savor and prolong the flavors and aromas of the steak and wine, although the "exquisite" nature of the meal meant I finished with a good whisky on the rocks. As for the prices, everyone can decide for themselves whether what they pay for their meal is expensive, cheap, or reasonable… I left delighted once again.

Pleasant place. The starters (sweetbreads and salad) were well prepared and tasty. They fell short with the main course (Galician blonde beef sirloin). Very tough and grist. Considering it's the restaurant's specialty, it didn't live up to expectations. I chose LALAMA wine. I liked it. They have a fairly comprehensive wine list with many selections. The price is a bit high for what you get.

In short: quality meat, like you'd find in the mountains, right in the heart of Madrid. Raza is a restaurant decorated with meticulous attention to detail. But what truly sets it apart is the quality of its cuts of meat. It has a large menu, and the cuts are reasonably priced considering the high quality of the meat—and that's something you pay for everywhere. For dessert, I'd recommend the tiramisu. Reservations are essential.

Excellent service and delicious, especially the ribeye steak and bone marrow.

Today we had dinner at Raza Madrid in Barquillo. No words other than "spectacular" can describe the meal, both because of the waiter who served us [Johnathan (the redhead)] and the quality of the food. It was a real pleasure to enjoy our dinner. We'll be back!

Excellent service and top-notch food... We received spectacular treatment from Diego and Jonathan. We will definitely be back, thank you.

Food was delicious and service top. We had the grilled veggies, croquetas , bonito salad , bone marrow and rodaballo. Inside the restaurant is nicely decorated with lots of seating and a bar facing the grill. They also have a outdoor seating on a quiet plaza

Booking recommended. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and service from the staff. Food wise we enjoyed the croquettes, tuna tartar and monk fish with prawns. Steak was a bit tough, not that special in my opinion. Overall a pleasant experience.

Absolutely incredible... You have to come and try it. Everything is delicious, and before you know it, you'll want to come back. That's how I see it and how I feel.
