Valencia Pride is the annual LGBTQ+ pride celebration of Spain's third-largest city, held in late June and drawing approximately 150,000 participants and spectators to the streets and venues of Valencia. The pride parade passes through the city centre and the Ruzafa neighbourhood — Valencia's gay and creative hub — making it one of the most visually striking pride routes in Spain, combining the architecture of the historic centre with the neighbourhood character of Ruzafa's bars and terraces. Valencia Pride has grown significantly in scale and profile over the past decade as the city's LGBTQ+ community has become more visible and as Valencia has established itself as a destination for gay visitors from across Spain and from abroad. The pride week extends beyond the parade: concerts, cultural events, film screenings, and a full programme of club nights and bar events across Ruzafa and the wider city. The City of Arts and Sciences provides a backdrop for some of the larger outdoor events, combining Santiago Calatrava's extraordinary architectural ensemble with pride programming. For visitors to Spain in June, Valencia Pride offers a genuine alternative to Madrid WorldPride and Barcelona Pride — smaller in total scale but characteristically Valencian in its atmosphere, pace, and the quality of its evening social life.
