My absolute favorite hotel in Gothenburg. Perfect location and fantastic view. Nice girls at the reception. Recommended.

There are hotels that feel polished and correct, and then there are hotels that actually manage to create a feeling. Avalon Hotel definitely belongs to the latter category. From the moment you first step inside, you are greeted by an interior that exudes both taste and self-confidence. There is a clear thought behind every detail here; art, choice of materials and furniture interact in a way that feels exclusive without being artificial. It is simply very beautiful, and also with that difficult balance between a design hotel and actual comfort. It doesn't hurt that the hotel is located as central as it can be and yet completely quiet. A few steps outside the hotel entrance is the market hall, which is bustling with life. The rooms were consistently high class. Stylish, calming and with a feeling of quality right through. The beds deserve a special mention — so dangerously comfortable that in the morning you start to consider canceling the day's plans and just staying. But the crowning glory is undoubtedly the roof terrace. An absolutely wonderful place to settle down, with a pool that elegantly extends over the roof edge and gives that almost floating feeling that makes you stop for a moment. A detail that makes the stay lift from very good to memorable. The breakfast was also just as generous and well thought out as you would hope for in this class. Plenty of options, high quality and something for all tastes, regardless of whether you belong to the classic hotel breakfast phalanx or like to start the day with something a little more ambitious. Add to that a staff that was genuinely nice, warm and professional. We had a problem with our first room, they had changed rooms and even offered to carry our bags. Service worthy of a five-star hotel. Now we didn't park the car in their garage but if you want, they will take care of the car, drop it off and pick it up. Incredible. A hotel with both soul, heart and style — and a place you'll be happy to return to.
