City Hostel Geneva

The stay was pleasant, with average cleanliness and common areas, but still quite acceptable for a youth hostel. The only downside is that I wasn't informed about the transport card I needed to pick up; it would have saved me money. Unfortunately, the staff doesn't take the time to inform you about this useful detail (I would have given it 4 stars if it weren't for this oversight).

Highly recommend staying here. The triple room shared bathroom was super clean and the room had its own sink which was a plus. Bathroom was also as clean as a shared bathroom can get which was nice. Location was also really nice very close walk to the water and surrounding shops and places to eat. The overnight parking for 15 CHF was also super helpful.

Zero separation between beds and no privacy—especially considering the dormitories are mixed. No comfort in the toilets, which aren't even attached to the rooms. I had to change in the wet shower. Far too expensive for zero comfort. For the price, the beds weren't even made…

I stayed in a mixed-gender room for four. Upon entering the room, I couldn't figure out which bed was mine. The toilet and bathroom were reasonably clean, but I was concerned that they were shared by both men and women. The location is good; I think it was about a 10-minute walk from Geneva train station. There's a kitchen room to the left of the entrance on the front desk floor, where you can use frying pans, a microwave, etc. There's also a place to eat.

Very well located, one of the biggest pluses was that they sent me a map for all the local transport (zone 10) for the duration of my stay. I received it before arriving, so I was even able to use it to get around. Valid for buses, trams, ferries, and trains. The Wi-Fi connection was excellent. The bed was comfortable. The only downside for me was the size of the showers and toilets; you have to calculate how to position yourself to open and close the door when you're inside 😬 Also, the showers don't have shower heads, and because of their small size, I found it difficult to wash. Despite this, I don't regret choosing this accommodation because of the positive aspects I mentioned above.

The rooms are pretty small, but the location and the people there are perfect. I recommend it for sure. One of the cleanest hostel that I have ever seen.

Everything is excellent, except for the employee who's always with his dog; he's rude. I'm surprised that so many employees in Switzerland have such bad manners. I think they're national security officers.

I'm all for cheap and cheerful accommodation but this place is like a prison. It's bleak. And my room *stank* of cigarettes, even after I attempted to air it out for hours (in the middle of January). So now it's cold *and* smells of smoke. This is grim.

Old fashioned style, small rooms but very clean, comfy beds, nice big bathrooms, very well equipped kitchen and good location. I visited twice and it was worth it! I also storaged my luggage there for a week for a very good price.
