Clayton Hotel Chiswick

A great location. Lovely breakfast, great room and good value.

Overall the stay was ok. However, why is there no fridge in the room? Also, the shower was a bit pathetic to say the least. Also, the power point next the bed you can plug anything into it as the bottom touches the cupboard. Useless. Seems to be lacking attention to detail and what customers require.

It's very good hotel, little bit away from the center. The big advantage of it is the bus and metro station in front of the hotel. The rooms were big. The window is closed or not open at all, not good to sleep with air conditioner.

We had booked another hotel which they changed due to a flood, the hotel we had booked arranged the booking with this hotel for us. Upon arrival we were told to book in using the online machine in the reception area, after doing this we mentioned the cost of the room being the same and about payment and was told by reception not to worry about either it was all sorted we assumed we'd pay on checkout. After our day in London we arrived back at the hotel just after midnight, had a drink at the bar and went to our room, however the card key we had been given in the morning didn't work so went back to reception...mentioned the key not working and was then told it was blocked because we'd checked in using the online machine in your reception and we hadn't paid again explaining everything we done the reception had told us to and we where made to feel like we where trying to get away without paying and basically was told at around one in the morning we had to pay there and then which we did...really poor service and rather rude staff, I wont be staying or booking with this hotel again

we arrived at the hotel after an early flight.. They allowed us to check in at 10 as the room was ready which was fantastic. The room was fabulous. Spotless. Aircon already on as it was 28 degrees outside. Food was fabulous. Chiswick is beautiful. Lovely cafes and everyone very friendly. 2 min walk from the trains and bus stops. Highly recommend this beautiful hotel.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this hotel has been one of the most disappointing stays I’ve experienced. It is marketed at a much higher standard than what it actually delivers. In my opinion, it is much closer to a two-star hotel. The rooms themselves are only average, but they are poorly designed for international travelers. There are no international power outlets, and only one standard outlet is positioned in a way that even allows an international adapter to fit. The air conditioning is by far the biggest issue. I have been here for a week and a half, and despite setting the thermostat to 18°C, the room has never cooled below 24°C. This is not just during the day—even at 1:00 AM, the room remains at 24°C. Getting a comfortable night’s sleep has been nearly impossible, and repeated attempts to resolve the issue made no difference. The bathroom is extremely dated and shows significant wear. Paint is peeling in multiple areas, making the space look neglected. Even worse, the sink drain has to be manually touched and opened every single time you use it, which is both unpleasant and unhygienic. The minibar refrigerator is installed inside a closed cabinet with virtually no ventilation. The cabinet becomes extremely hot, forcing you to leave the door open just to give the refrigerator a chance to work. Even then, it barely cools anything—bottled water only becomes slightly cool. The furniture is also in poor condition. The sofa had multiple dark stains, which made it feel unclean and poorly maintained. For the price charged, this hotel falls well below expectations. Basic amenities such as effective air conditioning, a properly functioning refrigerator, clean and well-maintained furniture, and updated bathrooms should be standard. Unfortunately, this property feels neglected and is nowhere near the standard it advertises.
