Mother Mash Covent Garden

Lovely food and service!

On a roasting hot day, the choice of pie and mash could be questionable but it was well worth it. This place was great! Really friendly staff, delicious pie and unbelievably good mash selves in a lovely informal, bustling atmosphere. I didn’t have room for a dessert so next time we’re in London, we’ll have to come back and try the apple crumble as well another delicious serving of pie and mash.

Surprisingly varied and super delicious, we ate both "regular" bratwurst and vegetarian ones with spinach, excellent! Unfortunately, it was very crowded and noisy when we were there, but highly recommended.

They were very attentive and pleasant throughout the entire visit, which makes a big difference. The only thing I would suggest is that it was quite hot inside the restaurant, so the temperature could be more comfortable. Otherwise, a highly recommended place that I would definitely return to.

I had a great dinner at Mother Mash Covent Garden, on August 4th, 2026. It's one of my favorite places to eat in London, charming and unpretentious. Wonderful staff, quick service, perfect British comfort food: I had some pie, mash and liquor, it was the best meal of the entire trip and very affordable (22 GBP).

A truly welcoming place, with very short wait times. In fact, shortly after we sat down, not even time to sip a good pint of lager, the pies arrived. We ordered one beef and one chicken, mushroom, and bacon. The explosion of flavor in our mouths is indescribable, the mash very flavorful, and the accompanying gravy sublime. The option to choose the composition of your plate is interesting: choosing between the type of mash, sausages or pie, and the sauce to accompany it. You can also choose the dessert, choosing between vanilla ice cream or custard. The portions are very generous, and for what you get, the price is worth it. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and easy-going. Highly recommended!!!

We were looking for "local" food experiences on our trip, and Mother Mash was one of our choices. First, because we were really drawn to their food, and second, because it was in a great location. We recommend making a reservation because it was packed by 12:05. We thought reservations might not be necessary, but seeing how busy it was, they definitely were. We opted for two dishes: sweet potato mash with chicken, bacon, and mushroom pie, and mashed potatoes with Irish butter, chives, and cheddar, topped with smoked pork sausages and honey. Spectacular!

After a long day walking around central London with my family, this was a great place to stop for a meal. The cheddar mash was one of my favorite, it had such a nice smooth texture. I especially enjoyed the Mother Plucker sausage, the gravy and the delicious steak and Blackheart Stout pie. Everything was flavorful and satisfying. The customer service was excellent, the staff were welcoming and attentive, and we all really enjoyed both the food and the overall experience. I’d definitely come back.
