Очень безопасно для ЛГБТК+
⚖️ Wales shares its law with England. Male same-sex relations were partially decriminalised in 1967 and fully equalised by 2003, civil partnerships arrived in 2005, same-sex marriage on 29 March 2014, and joint adoption in 2005. The Equality Act 2010 bans discrimination on grounds of sexual orientation and gender reassignment in employment, housing, services and education; hate crimes on both grounds carry enhanced sentences. The Gender Recognition Act 2004 allows legal gender change with a medical diagnosis but no surgery. The Welsh Government has its own LGBTQ+ Action Plan, published in 2023, that goes further than Westminster on trans inclusion in schools and health services, but it cannot change reserved law. Two UK-wide shifts apply: the Supreme Court ruled in April 2025 that 'sex' in the Equality Act means biological sex, and puberty blockers for under-18s were banned indefinitely in 2024. A conversion therapy ban is still unlegislated. Cardiff has a compact scene around Charles Street and Churchill Way, Pride Cymru in June is the national event, and Swansea, Newport and Aberystwyth run their own Prides. Rural Wales is quiet and unbothered by visitors.
