Maricafé is a café and bar with an LGBTQ+ bookshop inside, on Calle Honduras in Buenos Aires's Palermo Soho area. It's a daytime and early-evening place more than a nightspot: coffee, food and drinks, shelves of queer fiction and non-fiction (mostly in Spanish), and talks or readings on some evenings. With over 1,100 Google reviews at 4.2, it's well established. Palermo's restaurants and bars are all around it. The city's gay clubs start very late, often after 1am, so this works as an early stop before heading out.

It was raining and very cold last night. We tried to go in for a drink, even if we had to stand, but they wouldn't let us in because it was full. They told us we had to make a reservation.

Terrible. Is it a cooperative? Because they have awful chairs and tables. Super uncomfortable. The food is mediocre. The coffee is burnt; they don't know how to make it properly. High prices.
