Normandy Hotel

Stinky blanket, awful soap, terrible communication, parking lot far away.

Great hotel, well located in the center (the center, like many metropolitan cities, is bustling, with heavy traffic and some homeless people... but nothing bad to point out, and the hotel has security guards at the door). Good rooms, the only issue is the window (I found it a little dangerous, but considering that you can't alter the hotel's facade and that the room has air conditioning, it's okay). Great breakfast, very varied and with good options.

Extremely noisy. Old windows with huge gaps that don't block out either the weather or the noise from the city center. Truck and bus engine noise all the time.

For those arriving on Saturday, wanting to rest and sleep, DO NOT stay at this hotel. We stayed there from Saturday to Sunday and it's next to the street market on Afonso Pena Avenue. The noise starts at 10 PM and goes until 5 AM. Very noisy indeed. Impossible to sleep.

5-star reception: receptionist Willian was wonderful. The 3.5-star breakfast didn't have much variety, the bread was stale, the cheese bread wasn't very tasty, the fruit was unripe, but all the staff were super friendly. Room was ok, shower excellent. The pool area was very beautiful, but the hotel doesn't provide a bath towel, and there are no umbrellas.

The Normandy Hotel's positive points include its location, large rooms with comfortable beds, and new furniture. Negative points include cleanliness, especially in the bathroom; old and very noisy elevators; a terrible breakfast with many bread options, but nothing tasty. The cakes are tasteless. And the service in the restaurant at breakfast time is awful; the waiters make no effort whatsoever to be polite or courteous.

A good hotel in the center of Belo Horizonte.
