A great place to stay. Very clean rooms, professional, helpful and friendly staff. The hotel is centrally located, less than a ten minute walk from the train station, less than 5 minutes walk to restaurants and shopping. Please be advised that it is at the top of the main village street, so UP the hill. It is also a very busy street. We were on the third floor and our windows faced that street. It was a bit noisy, but it quieted down around midnight. If you are a light sleeper, it may be a good idea to have earplugs, those were very helpful. They have a gas water heater, and at the check in we were instructed to run the hot water for 4-5 minutes to allow heated water to reach the shower, which worked out exactly as they said. It was pretty cold at night, we were visiting early May, and the hotel thoughtfully provided extra blankets, which were also sufficient to keep warm. There was one night stand with a couple of drawers, a desk with a chair and a large TV on the wall. That was it for furniture. There was no closet, but we utilized luggage stands as shelves. Breakfast was included with the stay. They asked the time we would like to have breakfast. We asked to have it at eight am, I believe, breakfast was served from 7 until 8:30am…. But I don’t remember exactly when they started, it could be earlier. The hotel provided tea/coffee, juice, breakfast pastries with the works – butter & jam, cold cuts, fresh avocado and eggs made to order (choices fried or scrambled – we tried both, as we stayed there for two nights). Check in is at noon and checkout is at 10 am. There is a place to leave your luggage, if your train leaves later in the day, which is what we did. When we came back a couple of hours before our train, they let us use the dining area to hang out, bring in coffee and pastries and to charge up our phones. We very much enjoyed our stay and the service we received. We paid 317 soles for two nights and we would love to stay there again if we return to Machu Picchu.
Very good place to stay in Aguas Calientes. Special thank you to Milagros for being so kind and attentive.
I had a terrible time. They changed my room three times. The level of mold in the bathrooms, the lack of ventilation due to the absence of windows, and the musty smell in the room permeated my clothes and even my skin. There are no windows, no air conditioning (heating or cooling), and no dehumidifier in the bathrooms—it's truly unsanitary. I don't understand how they're even allowed to operate. Furthermore, the supposed breakfast is nothing like what's pictured. This hotel is awful.
Excellent service, excellent location (you have to walk uphill a bit, but it's 5 minutes from the hot springs and 4 blocks from the buses to Machu Picchu), a complete breakfast, comfortable rooms, and very attentive staff.
