The Grand Hotel Nanaimo

had a wonderful stay. The staff were friendly, professional, and very helpful, and the hotel was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. It will definitely be one of my top places to stay whenever I travel to Nanaimo.

Stayed at the Grand Hotel Nanaimo and had a fantastic experience! The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Lahiru the night reception was friendly and helpful, making check-in and the entire stay smooth. Great location with easy access to nearby spots. They definitely deserve a five star hotel rating. Would definitely stay here again—highly recommended!

We booked a princess tea party for my Daughter’s fifth birthday and it was absolutely amazing. The food was great, the service was excellent, and the whole experience was adorable. All the kids had a lovely time. They even added some edible flowers to the cupcakes we brought as an extra sweet detail.

This beautiful hotel is a high class but family friendly 5-Star experience! I have been staying since 2018 and I won't stay anywhere else. Its elegance and nostalgic feeling of a Queen's hotel is unmatched. The rooms are spacious and most importantly very clean. They have a lovely dining experience, room service, and a banquet or meeting hall. The decor in the lobby is very classical, vintage, and antique. The view overlooks the beautiful nature of Nanaimo as well as the North city lights. The best part of The Grand is the staff. They are so friendly and accommodating. Its also very affordable and there are nice amenities nearby. I would like to thank the Manager - Lahiru, as well as Fran and Eric for always making me feel so welcomed.

I was invited today for a late breakfast. The hotel itself is a hidden gem that is soo unique and is amazing but surely not for this Gen Z.... this place is for those who understand what true genuine service is. I was welcomed by my host and than we met the Maitre D of the restaurant. Jeffrey is a an exceptional gentleman who understands hospitality to the core. Looking around me, I felt I am in these lavish downtown hotels in London....just amazing. Jenny the server was super friendly. Chefs did a fantastic presentation of my dish even though it was just boiled eggs and fruit bowl. Quality was impeccable. Best berries I tasted since a while... went outside for a tour in the garden...OMG... It's like you are in a different place and soo unique. Amazing for small weddings, vip event... if you are a mature person, this place is NOT to be missed at all. By the way, they started serving High Tea while i was there.)))))) Highly recommend and coming back for that))). Ownership is doing a fantastic job despite being local and not an international brand so very well done)))) I only wish you all nothing but the best. Hats off Team Grand Hotel))))

Beautiful hotel.....until you look at the details. The inside looks like it was painted by monkeys. Gaps in coverage,unfinished looking. Went for their brunch. Black tie service for pub style food. The cook,as this guy does not qualify as a chef,deep fried everything except the watery poached eggs that were supposed to be basted and the toast......dripping with enough butter to drown a horse. Booked for 2 days... left after one. Would have had a better experience at a hotel six. E for effort
