A great stop in Condado a short walk from many of the hotels. The hoisin-guava wings were great, as was the mofongo. With a good selection of beer, mixed drinks, and bright fruit juices (NA), el Refran was a fun casual open air restaurant.

Waited about 30 min for a table at dinner. Walked by several times and saw people in line so thought we would try it. Servers not very friendly and did not offer recommendations. Grilled veggies were good and a nice change. The empanadas had too much breading and little inside which was disappointing as this is a staple on the island. Also, known for the tres leches cake so we wanted to try it, but they were out:(. How does that happen if that is an item your establishment is known for?! Also, no AC if that matters to you. One review said use make up fixing spray or it will melt and I wish I would have listened as she was right!

The pernil mofongo is outstanding!!

Best food and customer service in PR! Xena was amazing! You should get the Kan Kan Pork, Cubano, and the fish! 🔥 oh && the grilled veggies and truffles fries were amazing!

I’m still trying to figure out how this place received such good reviews. Did we eat at the same place? From the appetizers, to the entrees, to the price!!!! My steak was overcooked, the croquettes were mushy, the plantains old and my rice was hard. And if you’re going to have crappy food, at least have decent service. It really was a terrible experience. The one star is for the cod fritters, those were alright.

Absolutely amazing! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and the staff were friendly and attentive. The food came out fresh, hot, and full of flavor. Every bite was delicious, and you can tell they use quality ingredients and take pride in what they serve. The portions were generous, and everything was well worth the price. This is definitely a place I'll be coming back to and recommending to friends and family. If you're looking for great food and excellent service, this spot is a must-visit!

What a great find! This small hole-in-the-wall spot right across the street from our hotel turned out to be one of the best meals of our trip. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the mofongo, and my husband had the mamposteao. Both were full of flavor and perfectly prepared. Derek made the experience even better with his friendly service and excellent recommendations. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in the area!
