InterContinental the Clement Monterey by IHG

This was a great time. The rooms were very clean. The bathroom spacious. The beds are full size, not a queen. Get a king if you need the room. The restaurant was awesome. Joe, Emily, and our big guy from Houston were great hosts. Fried lemons with the calamari is a must try!

The staff was amazing! EVERYONE was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious with an awesome view! Separate soaker tub and shower. The C restaurant and Bar was delicious. Breakfast (eggs, potatoes, bacon, english muffin) was cooked perfectly. Walkable to the Aquarium, Fisherman's Warf, and tons of shopping. Parking was a set price for our stay. (Only $35 total for both nights!) We were there for relaxation, but we also saw business people as well as families and the staff handled all guests easily. The gym was a decent size (several treadmills and other pieces of equipment). The pool was a lap pool, placed right next to the hot tub. Price wise, it is on the upper end, but the location and service make it worth it!

The best hotel in monterey

We stayed at the InterContinental Monterey on June 13, and unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we have had. Around 10:00–11:00 PM, our 1-year-old son, who is currently teething, was crying, and we received a noise complaint. We completely understand that hotels must address guest concerns, but the way the situation was handled was extremely unprofessional. The front desk lady suggested that if our baby continued crying, we should take him to the “reading room.” I do not understand how it would be reasonable or comfortable to take a teething 1-year-old up and down the hotel in the middle of the night. She then stated that if she received one more noise complaint, we would have to leave the hotel and be escorted out. As a parent, I found this very upsetting. Babies cry, especially when they are teething and in pain. Instead of showing understanding, we felt threatened and embarrassed. After that conversation, I immediately started looking for another hotel. My husband also called other hotels in the area, but because it was a busy weekend, everything was fully booked. If we had been able to find another hotel, we would have left that night. I was unable to sleep for the rest of the night because I was constantly worried about receiving another complaint. As a mother, I stayed up late doing everything possible to make sure my baby did not cry. The next morning, while checking out, I spoke with a lady and a gentleman at the front desk about what had happened. They were incredibly respectful, understanding, and professional. They listened to our concerns and handled the situation with compassion, which we greatly appreciated. This used to be one of my favorite hotels, and I have always chosen to stay here whenever I visit the area. Unfortunately, after this experience, this will be my last visit. Families with young children deserve understanding and respect, and sadly, that was not the experience we received that night.

Super location with amazing staff. I had a room facing Canary road and it was so fun to step outside on our balcony and see and hear the night life. With that said once that door was closed I couldn't hear a thing so it was honestly the best of both worlds. Also the staff was super friendly and helpful I'll be coming back.

Great location Big contemporary lobby with fireplace. Hotel is walking distance to Aquarium dining bars and shopping. Nice waterfront firepits and view. Therapeutic hot tub...friendly service and comfortable bed

Previous had issues so I left a post stating all. I thought their response was a typical "we apologize, please come back and we will make it right." Wife change our reservation from another location because our son took his 1st steps 4 yrs ago there. We checked in and I mentioned management's response. The young lady went to the back and supervisor upgraded to a suit. We waited a good period because our original room was ready, but the suit had people in it still ... I asked due to kids being exhausted and antsy, could we just get the original room back. Supervisor then upgraded us again to the largest, one of their most expensive rooms on the site for original 2 bed room. The service was amazing. The TV went out and they replaced it in 20 min.

Pros: * Excellent oceanfront location. * Walking distance to aquarium, restaurants, and shops. * Comfy beds and pillows. * Beautiful Monterey Bay views * Top notch service. Cons: * Expensive parking - $ 45++ * Some rooms face the street or buildings instead of the ocean.

We traveled with 3 kids which was a challenge in itself. Asked for nothing other then to make up the pull out bed in the suite we paid 900$ for a night. The room and C restaurant were nice. Hotel front desk nice enough. Valet criminal level behavior, cussed my husband for asking if we can pack up a cart x2 to leave on time to meet our destination. We emailed hotel manager directly and were told he’s “investigating” after a week. I rarely review places but won’t be staying here again. It’s sad how far and deep common courtesy and the service industry has dropped.

Charming hotel in a beautiful town, excellent location next to the aquarium, courteous, professional, welcoming staff. Luxurious rooms, stunning sea view. A must-see when visiting the area
