North Haven Hotel

I am not usually a person who leaves bad reviews, but with my experience with this hotel, I feel it’s important for me to warn people . The front desk ladies were really nice and helpful. We even bonded about nails, but the room overall was really dirty. We found a huge bag of trash behind the chair and when we handed it to the cleaners, they didn’t say sorry or anything they just took the bag and said OK which surprised me. The hallway smelled like pot. The smoke detector in my room was missing. The pool was so foggy when you start swimming in it you couldn’t see your own feet. But what really made me want to write this review was what happened during the night. There was a fire alarm that went off because people were smoking in the hallway. It woke my fiancé up in a startle. We didn’t know what was happening. No one came to check on the guest and eventually we figured we should walk outside because it could be a real fire. The fire department came and we stood outside for about an hour once we were let inside with no apologies and no check in to make sure the guests were OK. Apparently, another guest who was staying at the same hotel we were at said this happens about every week . The alarm went off two times after that, it kept us up over the night. I’m a pretty reasonable and fair person and so I understand that things happen sometimes but with all this pretty outrageous stuff that happened they never said sorry, not even any acknowledgment of the stress it caused. We didn’t even sleep and we were there to sleep. It was a terrible night and we had to be ready for a very important event for our family the next day and it definitely made that very hard.

Broken air conditioner, broken elevator, broken TV, broken door, broken toaster. No one to repair it and the reception desk isn't responding. Fire alarm in the middle of the night. The room is clean.

Very nice motel went here during the 100 degree temps when our semis ac went out and it was a great stay both women I dealt with (evening shift about 8 pm and morning shift 5 am ) were both super friendly and helpful . rooms were above average for the price and bed was really conformable for me which is rare in a motel for me shower had lots of pressure and felt so good after a day of running with no ac (averaging 85 in the truck) would highly recommend north haven hotel

Terrible service. I have been trying to book an event here now for over a month. No one will call me back. I have left multiple messages with their front desk and on the sales voicemail which is almost always full. I cannot get a call back! I am trying to call right now repeatedly and no one‘s even answering the phone at the front desk. Do not go here!

Decently hotel, no major issues, however it's in the middle of nowhere food wise.

Comfortable and conveniently located close to Yale University.

Not a great neighborhood and didn't feel my truck was safe in the back lot by my room. The hotel absolutely stinks from some cheap perfumy "air freshener". Room was a bit worn for wear. Especially the carpet which didn't feel clean. And odd lodgers (residents?) roaming around the back lot. I just bolted by midnight and hit the road. Not recommended.

This place is a rundown dump. The entire building smells like cheap perfume. They are “shorthanded“ so room services every three days. We weren’t even told until after three days our trash cans were overflowing in our towels are getting soggy.There is black mold in the tile grout. The toilet in the woman’s room at the pool did not work and the one on the men’s room looks like it hadn’t been clean in over a year. The toilet walls were black. There were more leaves in the entry hallways than there were in the woods. You can tell that this is a very old hotel because the pool has a 10 foot deep end. That’s not even allowed anymore. This place needs to be leveled to the dirt and rebuilt. We will never stay here again. In addition, there were two homeless men, in the lobby, begging for cigarettes and money. This was right in front of the person working at the desk, who did nothing about it.

Location is great. The only down size is that they’re under staff so rooms don’t get clean regularly. But other than that the front desk staff is friendly and it’s a safe place to stay.
