The One Boutique Hotel

My fiancé and I stayed at The One Boutique Hotel in Flushing after attending a rooftop birthday party at the property. The event space was fine and the party was enjoyable, but the hotel stay itself was terrible. We only booked the room because we didn’t want to drive back to New Jersey after partying until 2 AM. We had already seen reviews mentioning shabby rooms and poor customer service, so expectations were low — but this was far worse than expected. At approximately 7:20 AM, we were abruptly awakened by loud chaos outside our room. A man was yelling on speakerphone about being locked out, followed by hotel staff pounding on doors, aggressively jiggling handles, talking loudly, and eventually drilling into a room for HOURS. The noise was so excessive that the walls and glass in our room were vibrating. By 10:20 AM, after nearly three hours of nonstop disturbance, I called the front desk. The employee casually informed me the man had been locked out since 2 AM. Even more concerning, the guest later told my fiancé he had been living there for SIX MONTHS. Clearly, this hotel has operational issues involving long-term occupants mixed with transient guests. No apology was ever offered. Staff acted completely unconcerned. The room itself was run-down with chipped paint and only half the bathroom lights working, forcing me to get ready in near darkness. Yet they still had no problem placing a $100 incidental hold on my card while we were the ones inconvenienced. I would never stay here again! Every guest on the seventh floor deserves to at least be reimbursed, half their expenses for the inconvenience! Update: to add insult to injury, this raggedy place had the nerve to charge me $30 for stain towels! You mean the stain towels that you gave us to begin with? Unbelievable. These are some of the nastiest people I’ve ever come across in hospitality. Please spend your money elsewhere.

Do not book this hotel! I mistakenly didn’t read the reviews prior to booking and when I checked in the room was so so and had dated furniture and didn’t look like it was thoroughly cleaned. One of the beds sheets was stained red with god knows what. Upon opening the closet, there was a pair of red boxers someone had left which showed that the maids didn’t do a good job. When I laid in the bed I immediately started scratching and had bug bites! I got up at midnight, checked out and got my deposit back and booked another hotel last minute. If you want to lay in the bed with bedbugs then stay here!

I took a week off in December 2025 and came back with scabies. What a great way to start 2026! The receptionists are friendly, though. A group of young people tried to open my door at 9 pm, thinking it was one of their friends. The neighborhood is fairly safe, but crowded during rush hour. The vending machine in the lobby is a welcome addition for refreshments.

Basic cleanliness and the ability to get a decent night’s sleep should be a given at any hotel, regardless of price. When we asked to switch rooms, the staff refused, which only made the situation worse. I don’t care how inexpensive this hotel is—it is not worth it. This was, without question, the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had.

This was the most foul disrespectful place I’ve ever stayed. We found bed bugs in our room. The front desk guy switched our room, only to find more bed bugs. He stated that he couldn’t upgrade or refund the hotel, as he wasn’t a manager. He refused to contact a manager and told us to talk to them at 10 am. Obviously my friend and I were not staying at this hotel over night. Absolutely disgusting and uncalled for. So we ended up having to change our flights to leave and sleep at the airport. And to top it off, we got to witness a man pleasing himself in the lobby on the way out. GROSS. DONT. STAY. HERE.

However, on the morning of checkout April 17 I woke up feeling extremely itchy all over my body. We found a bug on the bed. When we pressed it with tissue, it released blood, and there were also blood stains on the bedsheet. This raised serious concerns about hygiene (possibly bed bugs). We immediately reported this to the front desk, but the response was very unprofessional and disappointing. Instead of addressing the issue, the staff tried to shift responsibility by: • Claiming this has never happened before •Asking if we had been on grass • Suggesting guests sometimes bring bugs themselves This kind of response is unacceptable and insulting. No one would intentionally get bitten just to accuse a hotel. In the end, the hotel only They said they would “sanitize the room” and refunded the deposit. After further discussion, they offered only $40 in compensation, saying the room rate was cheap so that’s all they could do. This is not an acceptable resolution. Being bitten by an unknown insect is not just uncomfortable—it raises real health concerns. I strongly urge the hotel to take hygiene issues seriously and treat guests with basic respect and responsibility. My stay at The One Hotel was extremely disappointing. Instead of addressing the problem seriously, they repeatedly shirked responsibility, for example: • Claiming that nothing like this had ever happened at the hotel. • Asking if we had been to the grass. • Implying that we might have brought the insects in ourselves. This response was extremely unprofessional and offensive. No one would intentionally allow themselves to be bitten by insects to "frame" the hotel. In the end, the hotel only stated they would "disinfect the room" and refund our deposit. After multiple attempts to communicate, they only offered $40 in compensation, stating that this was the only amount they could offer because the room rate was low. This handling of the situation is completely unacceptable. As guests, being bitten by unknown insects not only affects the experience but also poses health risks. Who will be responsible if skin allergies or infections occur? We hope the hotel will take hygiene issues seriously and show more basic respect and responsibility towards its guests!

This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, bar none. I booked three nights for $384, and the room was dirty, smelly, and terrible. I only managed to sleep until 4 a.m. on the first night. Since I couldn't cancel the last two nights, I had to pay $110 to upgrade the room for the next two nights, but the showerhead was still broken, and the sink drain was clogged. Well, I had no choice but to stay for the rest of the two nights and then move back to the Four Points By Sheraton Flushing, which was cheaper but much, much better than this hotel.

I made a reservation for my mother-in-law, and she said the place was very good and clean. Since she’s a tourist and wasn’t familiar with the area, she had some trouble locating it at first. The receptionist was extremely helpful and patient in giving her directions and making sure she could find the place. We really appreciated their kindness and professionalism. Highly recommend!

I stayed at this hotel, and it was a complete nightmare — there were bed bugs in the room. I was severely bitten, and I am attaching photos of the bites as proof. I also checked other reviews — at least three other guests experienced the same problem and shared photos of their bites and bed bugs. This is not a coincidence, it is a systemic problem in the hotel. My stay was ruined, and I demand compensation for the inconvenience and damage caused. The hotel must take immediate action to ensure this does not happen to other guests. Warning to others: Be very careful, especially if you have children — this situation is extremely dangerous and unacceptable.
