Liquid Blue is a cocktail and dance bar at 8 7th Street, Melville, almost opposite Ratz. In Your Pocket and Rainbow Tour Guides both describe it as a long-time favourite of Johannesburg's Black and POC LGBTQ+ crowd.
Thursday and Friday are the best nights. On Saturdays it gets packed after about 22:00, so arrive earlier if you want space. Google reviews average 3.8 from around 80, with the usual complaints about queues and service on busy nights. Most people treat Ratz and Liquid Blue as one night out. Get a ride-hail car to the door rather than walking around Melville late.
