Meriton Suites Herschel Street is a mainstream apartment hotel in a high-rise tower in the north-western corner of Brisbane's CBD. It is gay-friendly, not a gay venue. Suites range from studios to three-bedroom apartments, each with a kitchen or kitchenette and laundry, which makes it practical for longer stays or groups. Upper floors have river and city views, and there is secure on-site parking. Queen Street Mall and the Brisbane River are a short walk away, and South Bank is just across the river. Brisbane's gay bars are mostly in Fortitude Valley, a short taxi ride or a 25-minute walk away. The listed phone number goes to Meriton's central reservations line in Sydney.
