Rockpool Bar & Grill Sydney

Visited on 8 August 2026. The food was generally okay, but overall the experience did not meet the level of quality we expected at this price. We ordered scallops, beef shin ragu, roasted prawns, T-bone, and rib eye on the bone. The scallops were juicy and naturally sweet, and the beef shin ragu was quite good, with tender beef. However, one of the four roasted prawns was noticeably undercooked, with the prawn roe still completely liquid, while the other three were cooked differently. We also ordered a rib eye on the bone but were served a fillet instead. Although we enjoy the fillet, it was not what we ordered. The service could also be improved. The waiter attempted to clear our table three to four times while we were still eating, and we had to repeatedly let them know that we had not finished. The billing process was also confusing. We were initially told that our bill had already been paid, but later found out that it had actually been moved to another table and combined with their bill. The front desk staff were helpful in resolving this. Overall, we would probably recommend other restaurants at this price point. If we are paying around $150 per person, we would expect better food quality and service. The front desk staff were pretty helpful and nice, but the waiters could have more training in taking the correct orders and knowing the right timing to clear the tables.

Don't expect Korean steak... Australian meat is generally tough, *sob*. However, the atmosphere is very nice and the service is excellent.

Rockpool delivered an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. I had the Beef Tasting Degustation, and every course showcased a different cut and preparation, highlighting the incredible quality and flavour of Australian beef. Each dish was beautifully presented, perfectly cooked, and thoughtfully paired to create a memorable progression of flavours. The service was outstanding—professional, knowledgeable, and attentive without being intrusive. The elegant Art Deco dining room created the perfect atmosphere for a special occasion, and the attention to detail throughout the evening was second to none. If you’re a steak lover, the Beef Tasting Degustation is an absolute must. It’s a premium dining experience that’s well worth it. Highly recommended, and I can’t wait to return.

A truly elevated fine dinning experience with a wow factor. If you're looking at treating that someone special to an amazing experience, the Rockpool Bar and Grill would definitely be the place. The ambience and interior architecture is beautiful, with an open kitchen concept. You can see and smell your food being cooked over fire. The service was attentive and very professional. Wait staff and hostesses were all dressed in suits and looked very well presented. We only ordered mains and sides so we requested everything to come out at the same time. The wait staff advised this would take approximately 50 minutes and asked if that was OK, in which we agreed that was fine. Our reservation was at 6pm and the food was delivered to our table at 6:50pm, so safe to say everything is meticulously prepared. We were a group of 6 and spent just a little under $1000 for all the food posted below. Overall, a very memorable and enjoyable experience. Thank you to the team that worked on Friday 31 July 2026!
