Wenjun Courtyard Hotel Chengdu

The room was very beautiful, with everything you need (shampoo, shower gel, dental kit). It was so nice that they provided slippers for the bathroom and the room, as well as baby clothes. My daughter was delighted with the slippers and toothbrush. The hotel itself is stunningly beautiful, Chinese-style; I wanted to take pictures of everything, just like the sights! Breakfasts were delicious, with plenty of non-spicy options for us. There were even yogurts for my child, and we managed to feed her. The room also had water, nuts, and fruit. The bed was excellent, hot water, everything was perfect, I slept very well! I'd also like to mention the beautiful combination of colors and fabrics. The location is superb; we only stayed overnight; we had a layover and needed to go to the airport during the day. Thanks to the hotel's central location, we were able to stroll through the beautiful park and visit the palaces. Before leaving, we had lunch at the same hotel – the food arrived quickly, and everything was delicious. We booked a taxi through the hotel, and it was cheaper than ordering one from the airport. The taxi arrived on time, and they even waited for us while we finished lunch. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. A surprise awaited us in our room: a bottle of delicious wine and a handwritten card with well-wishes. It was very sweet and heartwarming! Everyone was so helpful and polite. I definitely recommend this hotel!

The hotel looks old and a bit outdated not soundproof. But the service of the staff was great! Everyone is so friendly Specially the front desk staff Frank,Blair and the old guy who’s always ready to bring your luggage or fix something. They gave us a gift as well. Over all what a pleasant stay. 💕

Solo female traveler. I felt very safe and cared for. Frank had communicated with me prior to arrival and all of the staff were amazing. They organised outings, trips and taxis. I can recommend staying here highly enough.

Outstandingly wonderful hotel conveniently placed in the middle of Chengdu. Pleasant looking building filled with very hardworking and helpful staff. The hotel manager is kind and present to help at any time.

From the very first moment, we felt so warmly welcomed and genuinely cared for by the entire Wenjun team. Frank was incredible — he patiently helped us book our panda tour and, when he noticed I was feeling unwell, he brought me a special tea along with the sweetest handwritten note. It truly made my day and made me feel so looked after. 💛 I also accidentally left my prescription glasses at the hotel, and the amazing Juliya, Vivi and Joey immediately came to the rescue. They organized everything and arranged to send them safely to my next hotel in another city. Their kindness, quick action and care went way beyond anything we expected. Every single member of the team was polite, smiling, and always ready to help. We honestly felt more like we were staying with friends rather than just in a hotel. You made Chengdu feel like home. 📝 Special Note: The hotel doesn’t have an elevator, but the staff helped carry our luggage all the way up with such ease that we still don’t understand how he did it — so strong! 💪 We were so impressed and incredibly grateful. Thank you for the extra effort and kindness! We absolutely loved the charming hotel, the beautiful giant pandas, and the magical city of Chengdu — but what truly made it unforgettable was you, the Wenjun team. Probably one of the best hotel I have been in my solo trip (and I have been in hotels for two months). Location and room are great but what makes the difference is the staff that it’s really impeccable: they are careful and they speak English which is not super common! Really really suggested as a place to stay.

Lovely hotel, you get a lot of value here. The rooms are clean, AC is good, free water in room, we also got moon cakes and small wine bottles. Also you get vouchers for drinks and I redeemed mine for some snow beer. The hotel staff is very nice and accommodating, they help carry bags up, they can also help carry down just let them know. Staff are very eager to help and front desk English is good. Location is close to Kuanzhai Alley and Opera show and is a good place to base in Chengdu. For a 3 star hotel and the price, the value is good.

This is an amazing hotel and it’s their service which is outstanding. The help started even before we arrived with comprehensive information and tips for travel to and within China. They offer a comprehensive service with airport taxis, a travel agency for trips outside Chengdu and tickets for events within Chengdu It’s located on a lovely street with charming Chinese architectural right in the heart of restaurants and and independent shops. The nearest metro (Tonghuimen station on line 2) is 5 minutes walk away. Kuangzhai alley is 15 minutes walk away as is People’s Park, a great place for people watching. The Sichuan opera across the road from the hotel is a must watch The room was good with comfortable beds and lots of hot water. Staff turn yo with fresh fruit to welcome you and we got cake and wine one evening. There are no lifts but the staff will take your bags upstairs However, the outstanding thing about the hotel is the staff. Nothing is too much bother. Frank and Belle stood out in their efforts to help us Breakfast was comprehensive to cater to all cultures. The onsite four seasons restaurant was good and we ended up eating there in 2 nights

This is a wonderful hotel where you can experience an authentic Chinese atmosphere. It's a 300m walk to Tonghuimen Station on Metro Line 2. A vast cultural park is located right in front of the hotel, and you can enjoy a face-changing show and traditional Sichuan performing arts in a building within the park. Tickets can be purchased at the hotel front desk. They even kindly guided me to the show building! The lack of an elevator in the hotel is inconvenient, but the staff carried my 25kg suitcase up to the 4th floor for me! They also come to pick up your suitcase at checkout if you call the front desk. The room was spacious and comfortable. Fruit and delicious nuts were provided daily. I opted for breakfast, and the Chengdu-style Dan Dan noodles and wontons, made fresh on the spot, were incredibly delicious! The seasoning was gentle on the stomach, with a mild spiciness, almost as if it were made specifically for breakfast. I couldn't resist and had two bowls! Apparently, the hotel was featured on a Japanese TV program, and the owner showed me the video. They were incredibly friendly and kind, leaving me with nothing but positive impressions. I would definitely want to stay here every time I visit Chengdu in the future!
