We spent the first and last night of our trip through Shichuan at this hotel. Upon arrival, we received excellent assistance with setting up WeChat and Alipay from the English-speaking staff. The breakfast is very good and pleasantly varied, featuring Chinese and European dishes. The courtyard restaurant is excellent. We ate there every time, for both lunch and dinner. The rooms are fine and clean, and have a nice shower. We recommend it in Shengdu.

It's literally the best hotel I stayed in China and maybe even the best hotel in general. The staff is incredibly kind and responsible. We were helped with ordering services, airport transfer and even treated with gifts. Receptionists are very good in English. The room was good and it creates an impression of traditional Chinese manor, so beautiful!

I loved everything about this mid range hotel. The staff were all amazing, Frank the manager went above and beyond as did Zack and all the staff. The bed was so comfortable I slept like a baby but there’s no lift so if you have a problem with stairs then request a lower floor when booking (though staff will take your bags and cases upstairs for you). The buffet breakfast was a small banquet for any nationality, so much choice. The location was perfect for a first time visitor to Chengdu; on a street looking straight out of 18th century China, really near the metro, a park at one end of the street and another just over the road and everything happens in the parks in China, also £1 Didi ride & 5 mins from people’s park. The opera is also right over the road in the Cultural Park and that was a good night out. The restaurant food was excellent, be warned, very large portions. They also arranged my tours for me, traditional chinese acupuncture (I had wanted to try it in china), to get my watch fixed, and even took me to the hot pot restaurant and explained how it worked and what I needed to do. You can also buy a local SIM card at the reception and they will help to set it up in your phone. They can also arrange visas to Tibet but you have to give them 30 days so book early. All I can say is if I go back I will definitely stay here again.

We had an amazing time - honestly one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. We had so many apprehensions about visiting China as a family for the first time and had no idea what to expect. After speaking briefly with the hotel over messages before we arrived, they arranged our airport pickup. The driver was waiting with the sign exactly as promised, took us to a spotless, comfortable, air-conditioned car, and used a translator to welcome us to his hometown of Chengdu. It was off to an amazing start. The hotel sits on Qintai Road, a beautiful, clean street full of classic Chinese architecture. You walk straight into the hotel courtyard on arrival, which carries the same theme - it really feels like stepping into a magical bygone era. We were greeted by Frank, who we'd messaged beforehand, and you'll quickly learn that Frank is an absolute legend: friendly, helpful, and speaks perfect English. The whole team was wonderful and made us feel at home immediately, like staying at a friend's house. I've never had that feeling at a hotel before. The location is very convenient with plenty to do nearby. Culture Park is right across the road, while People's Park and Kuanzhai Alley are both a short walk away. There are also shops at the end of the road (about a 3-minute walk) for drinks, snacks and food. Qintai Road also has some very good Hotpot restuarants. We ate and drank at the hotel a couple of times and it was very good, and daily housekeeping was excellent. We arranged a private driver for the day through the hotel for a visit to Dujianyan, as well as airport transfers — both noticeably cheaper than comparable quotes I received elsewhere, and we were delighted with the service. Chengdu was an amazing holiday destination, and this hotel was the cherry on top. We left feeling we 100% have to return.

The hotel is very authentically Chinese, with rooms that have everything you need: shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, tea and coffee, water, and bags of nuts. There's also a couple of bottles of wine as a welcome gift, and coffee and tea are available 24 hours a day next to reception. But what we liked most was the service from all the staff—the reception staff were fantastic! And they speak English, which is rare in China, even in hotels.

Fine hotel with a slightly small room, but good food in the evening. Breakfast very basic.
