Mekong Hotel
Many visitors praise the Mekong Hotel for its spacious and clean rooms, friendly and attentive staff, and excellent value for money, especially given its good location. However, common complaints include very slow internet speeds, and some guests report issues with noise from a ground floor nightclub, as well as the hotel being run-down and in need of maintenance.

The photo as they use for the advertisement is totally different from the hotel. The main photo is the building front of the hotel. However, you have to walk on the building-sided because it was located at the back. The reception is quite old and staffs didn't pay attention to the customers.(They changed for a room-deposit 400K,kiep)Mostly, keep using the phone and let the customers approach by themselves. The carpets were smelly and messed. The room is too musty smell or stench. The furniture, especially sofas were messed. The AC wasn't cold at all. The shower room wasn't properly equipped. No Wall-mounted storage shelf. No hangers for towels. The floor is dirty. ***Not recommended ***
DO NOT BOOK HERE! The first place to start is related to food. On Trip.com, this place is listed as having three breakfast options: Chinese, American and Western buffet options. However, we were suprised during breakfast time that it was only Chinese. When we enquired at reception, they said they only ever serve Chinese cuisine. Why lie about the breakfast options online then?! Also, you had to go down to reception daily to get a breakfast ticket. Like why the inconvenince?! Next, let's move on to cleanliness. At the restaurant where they serve breakfast, there was a lot of questionable hygienic practices; the biggest one for me was that the ventillation had mold. Indicating that it had been quite a long time since it had been cleaned. That is putting people's health in danger!!! In fact, looking at the whole building, there was very limited upkeep. From stains in the corridor carpet to trash left lying around and the worst...cigarrette buds! There is a sign in place about no smoking, but I guess that is not enforced because even when we were in our rooms, we would smell cigarrette smoke. On top of that, you can forget about asking for a quiet room because people would just be very loud for reasons unknown to me. Lastly, the location of the building is not easy to find. It is behind an office building that seems to be advertised as the accommodation. It definitely leaves you confused when looking for it. Give this a skip if you want a stress free home away from home.
