Cliff Hotel & Restaurant

Great base while in Pohnpei. Clean rooms, aircon, comfortable beds, good wifi, on site restaurant serving breakfast,lunch, dinner 7 days a week.

Stayed 3 nights, nothing in room worked (phone, bathtub, room safe) except AC, was going to check out for one night, then return for another night. Decided to stay at another hotel the last night, told them at checkout that morning (30 hour's notice), they said they would refund the last night, which I had already paid for in advance. Submitted all receipts when I arrived home, after 5 days finally heard from them, never received the refund. Also was never picked up at the airport upon arrival, which I had also paid for in advance - had to beg a ride with a local family, since my phone didn't work there. They can't book anything, can't even give you directions to town (1/2 hour, VERY hot walk). NO view - photo showing here is a lie. See my photos below. (back of hotel, looks like a bombed-out ruin). Mediocre restaurant, took an hour to get anything (if they hadn't run out of it). AVOID THIS PLACE! PS - 5 months later, finally got a refund from my bank debit card, NOT the hotel (they never even responded to my bank). 10/8 - 2 months, still NO response or refund.

Make sure to explain that the Tuna steak is like a high quality meat, rare inside... i returned tje first.. was as stiff as you l know what. No pizza today...no mozzarella cheese, 😢 next time I hope.

I had a wonderful week at the Cliff Rainbow Hotel. The rooms were spacious with two comfortable queen beds. The A/C worked great, the room and the bathroom were very clean, and hot water worked without any issues. The room was also well-equipped with an iron, small ironing board, desk, and a refrigerator. The WiFi worked great in both the room and the restaurant/common area. The garden was also very lovely and the restaurant had great coffee and breakfast (Try the pancakes or the two egg combo!). There are a few tweaks that the hotel could consider to improve the experience: New towels and shower curtains, as well as some caulking for the bathtub. It would also be great to have a small kettle for making instant coffee or tea, as well as one or two extension cords since there were only two outlets. These are small changes but they would go a long way. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel. I was very happy with the experience and super comfortable all week. If I have the opportunity to return, this is definitely where I'll be staying. Thank you for a great stay, Cliff Rainbow Hotel! ☺️
