Bu yer hakkında Botanical Garden area

The green strip between Zagreb's Botanical Garden and the railway near the main station is listed in Croatian guides as an after-dark cruising area. It appears here for that history, not as a recommendation. Same-sex relations are legal in Croatia (life partnerships since 2014), but public indecency is a misdemeanour and attitudes outside Zagreb's scene can be conservative. GayOut does not publish meeting points, times or directions for outdoor spots. The safer ways to meet men in Zagreb are the bars, saunas and cruising clubs listed on this page, and the apps. Go with the same caution you would use in any park at night: tell someone where you are, keep your phone charged and valuables at home, and leave the way you came.

We had to go to the train station to buy train tickets so we decided to stop by the botanical gardens which are a short walk from the station. With a 2 Euro entry fee you can’t go wrong. The weather was hot but we found plenty of shady paths in the garden. It was a great way to spend a few hours. Definitely make the gardens a stop if you are in Zagreb.

It was nice to get out of the city noise for a stroll around Zagreb’s botanical garden. There were various types of flora, all mostly overgrown by weeds. The gardens need a great deal of maintenance. The ponds were dirty and unkept, filled with scum and brown water.

Nice small, well-kept complex with two euros entrance not too expensively paid. It all makes a medium well maintained impression. There is a toilet house but no gastronomy. 2 minutes from Central Station.

We took the option to visit the gardens in late April, when the sun was shining and it wasn’t too busy. The 2 euro entry fee came as a pleasant surprise …. It was a worthwhile stroll through the gardens and nice to see many of the shrubs and small trees were labelled with identification tags. Although some of the early flowers were going over I have to say it was a great walk around lasting about 45 minutes. It was so tidy and no signs of rubbish …

Beautiful piece of nature in Zagreb.. well maintained.. Regular sofas to enjoy the surroundings,, Very neat free toilets available about fifty meters from the entrance... or exit.. Income two euros.. certainly not too much.. In short, the most beautiful to enjoy the well-provided information per plant.. The location close to the Zagreb train station a hundred meters further than hotel “ esplanade”

Located near the train tracks this 12 acre site has over 10,000 plant species and is a lovely way to spend an hour on a sunny day. Strolling around the grounds takes you to some greenhouses for the more tropical climate plants, then you have the rock gardens and of course the array of wildlife, in particular the frogs watching you from every angle. If you enjoy nature you will enjoy here and at two euros entry that certainly isnt an obstacle, enjoy.

We visited in the summer so the garden was naturally lovely. Little ducklings in the pond, and plenty of flowers to see. We spent around 1 hour here

If you are in Zagreb for a few days and you enjoy gardens, this would then be a place to visit. They even have a rare and newly discovered tree from Australia.

First off, I have to say the Ljubljana Botanical Garden is much smaller and less impressive compared to the one in Zagreb. As soon as you enter the Zagreb Botanical Garden, you’re given a map, which is helpful, but it quickly dawned on me just how massive and beautiful the garden really is. One of the first things we noticed was the Gallery inside the garden, which is a nice surprise. There’s also what seemed like a sauna with plants, which was an interesting touch—very unique! The garden also features lily pads, which are home to little frogs 🐸, adding to the charm. It was an unexpected delight! Considering that Zagreb is a large city, we were expecting something impressive, but this is definitely one of the top attractions here. It's peaceful, full of surprises, and definitely worth a visit!
