Grand Cru Restaurant

An absolute culinary highlight in Prague – 5 stars plus! My wife and I enjoyed the tasting menu with perfectly paired wines at Grand Cru last night, and what can I say? It was an absolute explosion of flavor from start to finish! From the amuse-bouche to the dessert, one intense, perfectly balanced impression followed another. Cuisine & Wine: The individual courses were prepared with absolute mastery and beautifully presented. The accompanying wines were spot on – each one perfectly complemented and enhanced its respective dish. Service & Atmosphere: The service was outstanding, attentive at all times, and genuinely concerned for the guests' well-being. We were also delighted by the ambiance: wonderfully casual and relaxed on the one hand, and on the other, the historic brick vaults lend the dining room a very special flair. In summer, the tranquil courtyard is a dreamy place to sit, sheltered from the hustle and bustle of the city. Our verdict: Here, they deliberately avoid overly elaborate decorations and tablecloths – the focus is entirely on what matters: outstanding food and excellent wine. Anyone visiting Prague who enjoys fine food and drink simply cannot miss a visit to Grand Cru. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Prague. A full 5 stars and not a single one less!

We made a reservation for two ahead of our cruise that brought us to Prague. We bumped into a couple on the way to the restaurant and invited them to join us. The restaurant was very accommodating. Everyone was very kind and helpful. We all enjoyed our meals and all the little extra surprises. We loved the atmosphere especially the skylight. We enjoyed a very nice bottle of local wine. Thank you!

Potato soup with mushrooms and vegetables 300 ml 1,7,9 The pepper and spices are well-balanced, and the smooth soup and potatoes are very well cooked, making it delicious. 1. We had a wonderful experience at Grand Cru. We went for lunch and had the three-course set menu. The food was excellent. The atmosphere is very cozy and inviting, especially in the lovely courtyard. The staff were consistently attentive and friendly, making us feel very comfortable. A fantastic experience, and all at such a fair price. If we're ever in Prague again, we'll definitely come back and will certainly recommend it.

An absolute masterpiece! 5 stars all the way! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐We visited the restaurant 3 days ago, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Having dined at some of the most famous and well-known restaurants around the world, I can confidently say that Grand Cru stands out. The food was absolutely superb, rich in flavor, and beautifully presented. The service was flawless—highly professional, attentive, and welcoming. Combined with the magical atmosphere, it was a pure pleasure. They truly deserve all the praise. Highly, highly recommended

Is this really the standard of desserts one should expect from a restaurant listed in the MICHELIN Guide? Even gelato shops charging a fraction of the price often present their sorbet with considerably more care. We also requested an anniversary message in advance to make the evening a little more special. Unfortunately, even the chocolate mousse appeared to have been plated with very little care. I have visited Grand Cru several times over the years, which is precisely why this experience was so disappointing. After spending approximately 3,300 CZK on dinner, I simply cannot overlook the disappointing presentation. The sorbet looked as though a single scoop had simply been dropped into the bowl. The chocolate mousse, especially considering that we had requested an anniversary message in advance, also fell far short of what I would expect from a fine dining restaurant. Furthermore, the plating of several dishes gave the impression that they had been assembled rather hastily, suggesting a level of quality control below what we had previously experienced at Grand Cru. Even the A5 Wagyu steak had a noticeable burnt flavour, which detracted from what should have been one of the highlights of the meal. We did our best not to let these issues spoil our anniversary dinner, but once we left the restaurant, it was difficult to shake our disappointment with the overall experience. We had hoped to celebrate our anniversary at one of our favourite restaurants, but unfortunately we left genuinely disappointed. Nevertheless, I would like to thank the servers for their attentive, courteous and professional service throughout the evening.

Service: It started out good. The kitchen was informed about my intolerance, so I did not have to ask twice about it. I felt completely safe. We got some a small extra dish before our starters, which was nice. But the staff never asked what we wanted to order for drinks, which was very weird. Multiple staff members came by our table, but no one said anything about drinks. Other tables had great service and got wine recommendations, so we felt very left out. Once I actually asked a staff member if we could order drinks, and she said she would get another staff member to come and help us but no one came. So we only had water during our entire stay. This made us a bit annoyed of course, and it didn't help that I had to ask twice to pay. Food: Again, they were really attentive regarding my intolerance which was lovely. In general the food was nothing extraordinary. It was good, but nothing special and the chicken was a bit dry unfortunately. My husband asked to remove the ham sauce in his main course, because he can't eat ham, but they didn't replace his sauce with anything so his dish was also dry because of that. I think you should be able to expect more from a place like this. Overall: I think there are better restaurants to go to when you are visiting Prague. I would not recommend Grand Cru to a friend because of my experience, which is a bummer because it was a very cozy restaurant and the staff were sweet.
