Hotel Barbakán is a 16-room three-star at Bartók Béla utca 10, behind the cathedral and close to the medieval Barbican tower on the old town's northern edge. It has garage parking, which helps in a centre of narrow, partly pedestrian streets, and it's run alongside the nearby Szinbád Hotel. It's a mainstream hotel, not a gay venue; Pécs has no gay bar or sauna, so the city's queer calendar is really Pécs Pride in September or October.

We spent 3 nights at the hotel. We were extremely satisfied with everything. Cleanliness everywhere, wonderful inner garden. The rooms are of adequate size, the bed is comfortable, the bathroom is spacious. The breakfast is varied and plentiful. The staff is kind and helpful. The hotel is in a very good location, with a few minutes' pleasant walk to the city center's attractions.

If you pay close attention to my posts, I have a few regular hotels in the country. This is my first time here. It's a miracle! Staff, rooms, cleanliness are the best, more like 5+, not to mention the breakfast! There is no one who wouldn't find something for themselves. In quality, in abundance. Close to the center. I recommend it from the bottom of my heart, try it! I'm already planning my next trip to stay here again😊 Here again, I can only say the best now! Look for this place if you want to stay in Pécs. I continue to recommend it from the bottom of my heart!
