Cafe de Estraperlo

Cafe de Estraperlo anchors the LGBT-friendly corner of Malaga's Soho arts district, a few blocks south of the Alameda near the port. It is a designer cafe-bar with local artists' work on the walls and a soundtrack that drifts from jazz and funk to house, open all day from breakfast through late-evening cocktails. The crowd mixes artsy Soho locals, young and old, gay and straight, and it is the scene's standard daytime and early-evening meeting point before heading up to Plaza de la Merced.
