Fantastic! What a gem!! A dream with a dog, because it was so wonderfully cool in the mornings thanks to the water everywhere and the trees. Very friendly people and a wonderful breakfast under linden trees with a view of the greenery and homemade jam. A truly special place (and we're not even anglers 😉).

Since I can't leave a review as a fisherman, I'm leaving one for the restaurant and hotel: Huge disappointment at Domaine de Sommedieue, especially on a personal level. The setting gave absolutely no hint of what was to come… Fishing is first and foremost a hobby of passion, sharing, respect, and conviviality. The spirit of fishing is normally about hospitality, passing on knowledge, simplicity, and honesty. Unfortunately, I found absolutely none of that here. As a complete beginner in fly fishing, I had specifically booked a guided trip to learn in optimal conditions. During the booking process, no specific price was given: neither the guide's fee, nor the exact cost of renting the pond, nor the price of the meal, nor even how it would all be paid. Upon our arrival, the so-called owner, Philippe, I believe, began by offering drinks without mentioning that they would, of course, be charged. Everyone refused, so I simply ordered a coffee out of politeness… a coffee added to the bill without any transparency whatsoever. After only three hours of fishing, the guide calmly announced at the end of the session that we owed him €110 per person, his services in cash, of course. There were four of us: that made €440 for the guided trip, as announced after the fact. Then, when it came time to pay, my friend had already paid for the restaurant, and they also charged him for the pool rental. Final bill: an additional €333. Total: nearly €800 for three hours of fishing. It's simply outrageous and scandalous. The most shocking thing isn't even the price, but the way they handled it: a complete lack of transparency, poor explanations, a feeling of being tricked, no real support with the logistics for a first-timer that had been clearly explained, and no gesture of goodwill despite our legitimate confusion. This is a far cry from the true values ​​of fishing and the spirit this community is supposed to represent. When you welcome novices, you're passing on a passion... you're not giving them the impression that you're simply there to line their pockets. For those unfamiliar with fishing, be wary of this person's explanations and make sure you have a service contract... it's a shame that fishing has to be approached this way!

I can only echo the reviews: perfect, very spacious rooms, great location, especially with a dog. Delicious restaurant, very good and plentiful breakfast, and an excellent dinner, all at a reasonable price. Simply a pleasure to stay here.

We stayed two nights at this establishment, tucked away in the countryside and boasting numerous ponds and truly magnificent greenery! A prime spot for fly fishermen, but what we appreciated most was the tranquility of the place and the kindness of the owners and staff in general. A wonderful getaway! Lunch and dinner are available on site. Delicious home-style cooking. We also appreciated the very spacious room. Nothing was lacking! We are so glad we discovered this place!

Top hotel, nothing to complain about, the rooms were in tip-top condition.

A wonderful experience at this hotel… even in the middle of winter… Philippe, the owner, and Bruno, his son-in-law, were both incredibly welcoming. We enjoyed delicious meals (dinner and breakfast) by the fireplace. The rooms are very comfortable. On-site parking is available. The grounds are beautiful, with lovely lakes. A truly beautiful place.
