After reading everyone’s reviews, I felt a bit anxious about what kind of place it would be, but I decided to give it a try anyway. First, regarding cleanliness: For cleanliness-conscious Japanese people, I’d say it falls slightly below the absolute minimum acceptable level. I ordered the full package — body scrub, oil massage, and exfoliation. I had dreamed of being tossed around by a cute bear-type guy, but in reality, it was a veteran old man, and my dream vanished instantly. Still, his technique was excellent. I didn’t have enough cash on me, but they let me pay the remaining amount by card. As for the erotic side of things, it was actually pretty modest and restrained. There weren’t really any handsome guys there, though.

Feels some of the reviews I have read are a bit harsh. I went yesterday with a friend. We didn't know what to expect, the staff was kind despite the language difficulties. The actual hamam looks authentic and it felt like a good experience, we pretty much looked at what other locals were doing and followed, being very respectful in the baths. You can get a free bar of soap, head to the hamam , sit near one of the water fountains, get the water to the temp you like and wash thoroughly. That in itself felt good. You can relax in there as some people do, just laying down on one of the marble surfaces. Or if you feel a bit more adventurous head for the steam room or sauna, where things get a bit more interesting. Even there, no one was pushy but I found most people were up for a good relaxed time. It was packed when we went, men of all sizes and shapes. Language was a bit of an issue but everyone was welcoming and with whatever English we could speak between us we managed to understand each other. I had a foam massage, the masseur was lovely and I felt very relaxed. If you go with an open mind and wanting to experience something that feels a bit more authentic, you won't be disappointed.

I hesitated for a long time to try this hamam because of the mixed reviews, but I shouldn't have. It was a very good experience. Plenty of space for steaming, beautiful hamams, a diverse crowd, lots of young people and tourists. My English and Turkish are poor, but we easily found common ground with the manager. Everything is very simple: they give you a key to a locker, slippers, and a towel. You change. Pay on the way out. The hamam itself costs 500 lira, and massages start at 200. You can bring tea and water. They give you three dry towels on the way out. I'm very picky about saunas, but there's something for everyone here. So welcome! They say it's best to go around 4/5 pm, so not too late in the evening. Of course, it's not a themed club like the one in Berlin, but it's authentic and very cool!

Great traditional Hamam in a very authentic old construction. Not fancy, not new, but real. Nice mix of locals and international, and very comfortable for friends of Dorothy.

The hammam is advertised as gay-friendly, and most of the people inside are mature, but if you're looking for intimacy, this isn't very suitable. There are very few changing rooms, and I believe they charge extra. There are two wet saunas that are used as dark rooms, and these areas are extremely hot. Apart from that, the hammam area is a nice, traditional Turkish bath. If your aim is more about intimacy, I would recommend Cihangir Sauna nearby; that's pretty much its sole purpose.
