Odesa Pride

Odesa Pride is the annual LGBTQ+ pride of Ukraine's cosmopolitan Black Sea port, held in May around IDAHOT (17 May). First staged in 2015 — when a local court initially banned it — it is organised by Gay Alliance Ukraine. The march paused in 2023 and 2024 during the full-scale war, then returned in May 2025 under heavy police protection, and continued in 2026 with a festival week of discussions, film screenings, a QueerQuiz and the Black Sea Queer Feminist Forum, culminating in the march. It remains modest in scale and highly security-sensitive, but is the most visible LGBTQ+ event in southern Ukraine.
