Al is a really friendly and enthusiastic instructor, the group are also very welcoming and a great mix. Some self-defence/martial arts groups might be more intimidating for women, but Resilience is a very safe and comfortable space for everyone. It's a lot of fun and I feel more confident in my ability to defend myself
I train Krav Maga with Al both 1:1 in a local park and at Warstock community centre in a class. Al is very welcoming of levels of ability from absolute beginners to those with years of training in a range of disciplines. He is extremely patient and talented in the way he gets various ideas and techniques across. He pays attention to detail and gives helpful individual feedback to develop everyone's skills and abilities. This is a friendly community who train practical skills in a safe way. I can't recommend highly enough.
Definitely a 5 star review from me Iv recently joined Krav Maga. And it’s the best decision Id ever made. Al always makes you feel welcomed into the club he is so patient and he always goes at your pace. And he is always there to support you and guide you through your training he is a very understanding guy everyone there is so down to earth they make you feel comfortable. So If you’re looking to boost your confidence or to do regular classes or just to do training this is the place for you. Everyone is so lovely and they are so understanding. They will help and guide you through your training! I highly recommend it! :)
I am on the younger side of things and before joining Resilience and practicing Krav Maga, I was always a fairly timid and anxious kid. After just a few lessons, I started to feel more comfortable and confident with myself. The wonderful community and inspiring training we do here is phenomenal. I could not ask for a better club to go to, and if you happen to be like I was, it’s worth giving Resilience a good shot.
I've been with Resilience Krav Maga Self Defence for number of years and I simply can't recommend the club and the coach high enough. All sessions are brilliantly led and one always feel in a safe and caring environment despite practicing a contact combat sport. All classes are really enjoyable packed with both theoretical and practical knowledge and the best thing is, we all work accordingly to put level and ability whilst building a serious knowledge in self defense and confidence growth in the process. This club is the place to be if you want to try and challenge yourself to a great workout whilst obtaining serious mental and physical self defense skills and knowledge. The club has great and friendly people too and you're sure to make some good friends.
I'm quite new to Resilience Self Defence, and Krav Maga, but have been enjoying it very much. The instructor, Al, is brilliant - he's very passionate about self-defence, and goes the extra mile to make sure everyone is getting the most out of a session. He seems really focused and invested in students' progress, as well as their enjoyment of the classes. The group is a great mix and everyone is also really friendly and welcoming. It has quickly become a highlight in the week, would highly recommend to anyone.
This friendly, welcoming club is a great way to build your fitness, confidence and self-defence skills. Lead instructor Al is brilliant! He's patient, very experienced, a great motivator and passionate about making Krav Maga accessible to everyone. Recommended!
