Funky Fish Kulüp

Funky Fish Club is a no‑frills dance hall on Marine Parade that leans on its longevity claim while serving up soul‑heavy beats. The space is tiny—just a single floor, two bars, and a modest dance area—sitting directly opposite the seafront in Kemptown. Its own signage touts it as Brighton’s longest‑running nightclub, a brag that feels more nostalgic than revolutionary. There’s no dress code, and the playlist sticks to soul, funk and familiar party anthems. The crowd is mixed, mostly locals who want a relaxed night out; it’s gay‑friendly without being a gay‑specific venue. A short stroll brings you to the St James’s Street gay bars, making Funky Fish an easy stop after a night on the strip. The club’s hours are fluid, so it’s worth popping onto the website to confirm which nights are actually open before you head out.
