Second Nature Chiswick

the wifi randomly stops working and the workers say ‘we don’t know, need to wait until the morning’, i asked for a cup of water and the worker said ‘you can drink the tap water in your room’ mind you, it was a bar. i came back from a day out and my important pages/ papers for my course were suddenly gone and when asked the housekeeping manager said ‘we don’t touch papers unless they’re crumpled’ (they were not) my friends had to relocate because there were ants in the room!! the flush stops working and you cannot fix it. i came here for a trip with my school and it seemed cool because it was eco-friendly but it was so at the cost of our trip and stay.

I’ve been coming here for years & it’s a funny one because on the one hand I absolutely love the place. The seating is lovely, theres lots of room, dogs are welcome and its probably one of the nicest places in Chiswick to sit quietly with a coffee and get some work done.. More and more people work from home these days and not everybody has a nice big house with a study. Many people are stuck working from their bedroom, which can’t be good for anybody. So places like this really do matter. The reason I’ve taken off two stars is the staff. Not all of them of course, but over the years I’ve noticed the staff seem to change constantly and many of them look dreadfully unhappy. It’s quite odd really. You go into other coffee shops in Chiswick and see the same friendly faces year after year. Here they seem to come and go all the time. What puzzles me is that so many of them seem irritated by the customers. I’ve seen people spoken to sharply over the smallest things. One day a friend of mine was topping up her glass from one of the water bottles and was told off for using the wrong one. All the bottles had lids on them and contained exactly the same tap water. It just felt unnecessary. The venue itself is wonderful. It’s such a shame because this could easily be one of the best places in Chiswick. If the staff were a bit warmer and a bit friendlier I’d give it five stars. A lovely place. Just not always the warmest welcome.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I had to for room2 Chiswick. I come here mainly for the café area to study, and it’s honestly become one of my favourite spots. The atmosphere is always calm, clean and welcoming, making it perfect for getting work done while also spending quiet time alone. A special mention to Daniel, who is always incredibly welcoming and kind. He lets me study there comfortably and always makes me feel at home. Great service and genuinely lovely hospitality. Highly recommend whether you’re staying at the hotel or just popping in for the café like me.

We had an incredible experience as room2 Chiswick. The staff was extremely kind and helpful, the room was perfect and beautiful, the food was great, and the location was unbeatable. This is an excellent home base from which to enjoy all of London. We can't wait to stay here again!

We stayed at Room2 for three nights and had a great experience. The design of the hotel is extremely thoughtful - every practical thing you could possibly want (kitchen, fridge, laundry room, gym, restaurant, unlimited milk refills!), in a setting that’s inviting, relaxed and modern. The staff were super friendly and helped us with a bunch of recommendations, the bar area /restaurant was fantastic for breakfast and to use as a working space. I would go there again, even for a meal if not staying at the hotel. Location is very convenient, right next to tube and a bunch of restaurants. Definitely plan to stay again.

I wondered if I had wandered into the same hotel as the rest of the reviews. Indifferent check in before entering a psychedelic lift that made me feel slightly queasy. Dark corridors which lit up behind you after you'd passed. Bare looking room with cheap vinyl flooring and cheap furniture and fittings. Wet room which I hate and a toilet with no lid and a padded back rest. I think they may have given us the disabled access suite. Cheap instant coffee where I would expect a coffee machine for this price. The 'wardrobe' just an open closet. Worst of all, the 'double' bed was 2 singles put together, meaning an uncomfortable and unromantic night with my wife. Simply not worth £179 for one night. If I hadn't joined their 'club' it would have been £239. It's worth driving a bit further into London and getting something decent for that money. I would never go back and wished I'd chosen to drive the 100 miles home instead of staying.

I wish i knew about this place earlier! A wonderful homely hotel, boutique in style with everything you need when away from home. A great welcome on arrival- nothing was too much. It’s right in the centre of Chiswick High Road surrounded by great restaurants and pubs. Our room was fantastic- bright, roomy and comfortable. And to hace a laundry available for guests was just another feature we found valuable. Highly recommend this wonderful hotel!
