Large and comfortable room, clean

The hotel was very good, exceeding my expectations. Simple, but well-organized and clean. The room was quite spacious. The reception staff were very good. For tourists who are just staying at the hotel to sleep, it's excellent.

Okay, so if this is your first time in Santiago and you're staying at this hotel, this review is definitely for you! I went backpacking with two friends, and initially I saw some pretty bad reviews because of the hotel's aesthetics and location, but let me tell you right now, the place is safe! In front of the hotel is Cerro Santa Lucia, a park with many viewpoints overlooking the city, a tourist attraction in itself. Also in the same block, welcome to Lastarria! It's a very charming bohemian neighborhood, full of life, energy, good restaurants, bars, cafes, craft fairs, and happy people... In addition, you can walk to the attractions in the city center, such as Plaza de Armas and Palacio de la Moneda. … and there's a metro station nearby too. The hotel is quite old, it's not luxurious or fancy, the rooms are quite noisy, but we were very well received! The rooms were clean and smelled nice, the shower and faucet had hot water, it had a mini-fridge, heater and air conditioning, all working perfectly. So, without a doubt, the hotel's strong point is its location! If you're a traveler like me, who will spend the whole day sightseeing in Santiago and will only return to sleep, without luxury and with just the essentials, this hotel will suit you.

Honestly, it's a shame. The hotel is very, very run down. The staff, except for the lady who works lunchtime, is unfriendly. The rooms are large, the beds comfortable. The bathroom is a good size but poorly designed; only someone 6'3" (1.90 m) tall could stand comfortably (and even then, they risked slipping because there's no bath mat) when getting out of the shower. One rather disgusting detail: when I opened the soap they provide, I found a hair stuck to it... it makes me think they repackage the leftover soap. The hotel doesn't have a café or restaurant, nor any vending machines. Of course, when you arrive, you have to wait... In short, I wouldn't return, and I wouldn't recommend it... That said, the location is very good.

Basic hotel, nothing luxurious. But it served its purpose for the time we stayed. It's a few steps from Cerro Santa Lucia. The metro station is also very close.

Contrary to the negative reviews, the hotel surprised us during our 5-day stay. Great location (near the metro) and, being close to the restaurants in Lastarria, there was plenty of security nearby. The building is old but everything was very clean. We had no problems with noise. The staff were very helpful (special thanks to Mr. Marcelo who even recommended some wines to buy). The hotel isn't luxurious, just a place to sleep and rest for those who want great value for money.

I stayed at the Windsor for 6 days, and contrary to many criticisms regarding the hotel's presentation, we felt it delivered on its promises. The hotel is in an excellent location, the rooms are large and very clean, the bed is comfortable, the sheets are clean and new, and the room service was perfect; every day when we returned to the room, it was fragrant and spotless. The hotel is old, the shower is difficult to use (sometimes it took a while for the water to heat up), the mini-fridge is very cold, and the air conditioning also works well. The receptionists were super attentive and helpful. We had no problems whatsoever with noise or movement. I would stay again. If you are looking for luxury in a hotel, this is not an option; on the contrary, it's great value for money.

Simple hotel but very well located. Rooms are a great size and face Cerro Santa Lucía.
