Sugar Bay Barbados

I was there 8/17/26 to 8/22/26 in RM#132. The room A/C wasn't cold, but was only cool despite on the coldest setting. The bed had us itching and felt like something was crawling on us. I used my phone flashlight and saw tiny bugs ( not bed bugs ) on the sheets. The wall mounted headboard is filthy inside the carved designs with built up dust balls within the headboard and on the wall. The hanging lamp shade smells horrible. The resort workers such as: water sports, waiters/waitresses, bartenders, servers, bellboy, guest services, house keeping ALL are very hardworking and attentive. UMI & the steakhouse are on point along with the food that the resort has served. THERE IS ONE WORKER WHO DESERVES A STANDING OVATION, EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH & YEAR, A SPECIAL AWARD PLAQUE, 2 WEEKS OFF WITH PAY AND A RAISE. THAT EMPLOYEE NAME IS JUNIOR WHO WITHOUT HESITATUON WENT BEYOND THE CALL DUTY TO RISK HIS LIFE. I SPOTTED A COUPLE DROWNING IN BEACH WATER 40 YDS OFF SHORE. AS IT WAS ALMOST DARK WITH SRONG WAVES & CURRENT PULLING THEM AWAY FROM SHORE. I NOTIFIED THE BEACH BAR AND EMPLOYEE JUNIOR WITHOUT HESITATION SPRUNG INTO ACTION DOVE INTO THE WATER FULLY DRESS DESPITE LIMITED VISIBILITY. A GUEST WHO IS ALSO A LIFE GUARD IN HIS COUNTRY ALSO RISKED HIS LIFE. JUNIOR HAD SAVED THE HUSBAND AND THE GUEST HAD SAVED THE WIFE. JUNIOR WHO STILL FINISHED HIS SHIFT AFTER THE RESORT DRIED HIS CLOTHES. NEEDS TO BE RECOGNIZED FOR HIS EFFORTS. I'M ALSO GOING TO REACH TO TO THE BARBADOS GOVERNMENT TO INFORM THEN ABOUT JUNIOR HEROICS. I would like for the hotel owners/main manager to reach out to me.

Sugar Bay Barbados absolutely exceeded every expectation! From the moment we arrived, the staff treated us like family and made every second unforgettable. The beach is straight out of a postcard with crystal-clear water and soft white sand, the food was incredible (seriously, every meal hit), and the drinks never stopped flowing. The rooms were spotless, the vibe was relaxed but fun, and there was always something to do. Whether you're looking to chill by the ocean, enjoy amazing restaurants, or soak up the island atmosphere, this place delivers on every level. If you're thinking about Barbados, stop overthinking it—book Sugar Bay. This wasn't just a vacation, it was an experience I'll never forget. 10/10, five stars, and I'd go back in a heartbeat!

Amazing place!! Staff were super friendly and the location was idillic

Just returned from a 2 week trip with my partner - I really wish we could give Sugar Bay 5* but it fell short on a few small areas. The rooms are lovely and are cleaned every day. Food was absolutely amazing and super tasty for buffet style at the main restaurant and the steak at the steakhouse was to DIE FOR. The staff can't do enough for you and are so helpful in every respect! The hotel was a lot smaller than we were expecting and was relatively quiet but this meant there were always sunbeds available, lots of watersports and games so we never got bored and having the private beach was a major plus! Be aware that one of the pools is just a dipping pool and the main pool is not for swimming in, just standing (3ft). Despite this being an 'adult only pool', all the kids do use it. We found the cleanliness around the pool area quite poor and it wasn't mopped or swept (nor were the sunbeds moved or cleaned) in the 2 weeks we were there. The air con also seemed to make things in the room wet/damp such as the bed sheets and our bags but it worked fine overall. If you're looking for somewhere to relax and be in bed by 10, this is absolutely the place to go! However if you like to have an activities schedule (that is free) and like partying, you'll probably want to look elsewhere.

Just returned from a wonderful trip to Barbados , stayed at the sugar bay resort it was absolutely wonderful from the food, the kids club, the room service, and all of the helpful and friendly staff. Especially want to thank Krishon, Zakobe, Kelly Anne, Wonnita, Kay, Tristian and Jesus for making our trip extra special and bringing warm tropical friendly vibes each day. Definitely recommend staying here! We will definitely be returning ☺️❤️ Thank you all.

I stayed at Sugar Bay for 4 nights with friends for our annual girl’s trip. The resort is well maintained and there were scheduled activities/events every day for those who were looking for entertainment or something to do. There were plenty of water activities offered and the staff who worked at the water sport shack were very helpful. The food at the resort was amazing! The staff are friendly, and the front desk was very accommodating. I would absolutely return to this resort!

We stayed in the penthouse suite as we went with the kids and the mother-in-law. We previously came here in 2019 however, when we stayed in a beach facing room. The hotel is just as delightful as it was when we last visited, being smaller than other resorts, which is more our thing as we prefer the more intimate vibe going on here. Once you get used to the laid back vibe and ease yourself out of the hectic lifestyle back home, this place just gets you to switch off and go with the flow of things in Barbados (it's a state of mind). Great resort with 3 restaurants, one of which is a buffet style main restaurant. The other two require boking and you get to book the two others once each during any week. Overall, a fantastic stay for 2 weeks. Would come back again.

Just back from 1st visit to Barbados. Highly recommend Sugar Bay. The staff are friendly and attentive. Room was spacious and clean. The food was varied and there was always something for everyone. The beach area is great. We all felt very safe swimming because of the rocks creating a lagoon. We made full use of the free snorkeling gear and spotted so many shoals of fish. A wonderful chilled place. Will return.

Good afternoon On 1 st day check in was perfect. Food, drink was ok. From 4:30 to 6:30 no food. I was mention there are 2 high class restaurant UMI AND STEAK HOUSE. When i asked them what about if i want both to try they told me i have to pay extra. Why should i pau extra? For 4 people i paid $4900 for 4 night and pay for food extra? That should be mention on your website. Its not because of the money we paid its about that some people should been know in advance On first dinner i see ant on multiplie dishes. Which i show waitwr. She mention to noting she can do Thank you

We spent a week at Sugar Bay and had an amazing time. There’s literally nothing I can complain about. Hotel is well maintained and spotless. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and the food was great. We upgraded to a seafront room- I’d definitely recommend
