Fort George Hotel & Spa

This hotel is absolutely awful! I’m 30 days away from my trip, I had a medical procedure come up so I’m not able to go any longer and they would not cancel or refund me. Wasted trip and horrible customer service as I was going to reschedule. Do not book this hotel!

Please don’t stay here yet, I want to be fully transparent on this review — as I am still waiting for the management to reach out to me about my stay. The second building of the hotel should not be open yet. The construction going on affects their water supply. For three days we barely had any water to shower or brush our teeth. They came to look at it and said there were sediments in the running water. However, anytime we turned it to hot the water stopped running. My last straw was on our last day in the morning we woke up wanting to shower because we had a shuttle to catch, and absolutely no water came out. Please keep in mind it was my time of the month and they mentioned they are working on it and to give them some time to fix it. I was enraged as I needed to shower before a flight back home! I said I need somewhere to shower, we are leaving in one hour. They finally called us back and said they have a room for us but they don’t know the condition of the room and it may not be clean. I was truly disappointed. Luckily, they came to the consensus to just let us use the penthouse suite to get ready and leave — which I appreciated, but it wasn’t their first resolve. Which was disappointing. Overall our stay was so mediocre and Im so glad we didn’t stay the 5 nights we paid for, due to a storm that delayed our initial flights to San Pedro. The fee was nonrefundable and they refused to give us the amount back for the days we weren’t there, but I’ll be contacting my bank and management. Such a shame, looks pretty on the outside and it’s fine on the inside but this building has work to Do.

This hotel is ideal for anyone who wants to relax a day in Belize City before embarking on their Belize adventures. The Room, Bed and Sheets were high quality. My wife and I enjoyed a full day of rest and relaxation after a very long day of travelling. Its location is close to the Belize Express Water Taxi. The on site Restaurant: The Tree House provided one of most memorable vacation dinners. Belize City may intimidate some travelers. But I felt safe. There is a Publix grocery store near within walking distance. Because of the limited items immediate around Belize City I rated it a 4. The new addition at the water front will be an impressive place to stay also. The staff was absolutely amazaing.

During our recent stay at your hotel, two of the four people in our room experienced swollen lips, face, and rashes on their arms, legs, and wrists due to bug bites. Despite our suspicion of bed bugs, the manager declined to offer a refund for the remaining reservation, which would have allowed us to find alternative accommodations. She claimed that if it were bed bugs, all of us would have been bitten and believed it was an allergic reaction to something we consumed. However, we all ate the same food, and the only two affected individuals shared a bed. After some back-and-forth discussion, they relocated us to a different room. Although the room's quality was subpar, featuring a broken bathroom door, we did not encounter any further issues with bites or allergic reactions proving it was something in the bed we slept in.. Upon checking out, they attempted to charge an additional $320, citing additional guest fees. I had informed them of the fourth person upon check-in and provided her passport, and they never mentioned anything about additional guest fees until we checked out. We were celebrating my deceased son's birthday, and my oldest daughter surprised us, which the hotel was aware of upon check-in. Moreover, they should not have resort fees, as they do not offer typical resort amenities. The pool is extremely small, the food in the restaurant was not to our liking, and they falsely advertise available parking, including vallet. However, guest vehicles are parked on the side of a nearby building under construction, with a sign stating 'park at your own risk.' Grieving my son's death is one of the darkest times of my life, and I attempted to celebrate him, but unfortunately chose the wrong hotel with an unprofessional and unsympathetic manager.
