Avalon Salon Spa - Uptown

Came to get my eyebrows shaped and tinted, and a lash tint. I was put in the waiting room 5 minutes before my appointment time which was 6:15. I waited until 6:35 until I finally came out to the reception desk and asked if anything was wrong. My esthetician was a pleasure and apologized and asked if anybody had called me in? I said no. Clearly I was forgotten about and reception didnt seem to care. 10 minutes late is okay, but 20 is ridiculous for the $70+ spend.

I had such a great experience with Sara! I showed her a picture of what I wanted, and she recreated it perfectly (exactly what I was hoping for). She’s also incredibly friendly and made the whole appointment really enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Elizabeth did a wonderful job today on my nails! She is very talented and goes the extra mile to make sure her clients are happy with the results. I enjoyed the whole experience from start to finish. Thanks! I will definitely be back!

I always go to avalon for hair cut and wash... but my experience was not good this time... it was okay start but ... as the process was going on... the hairdresser mentioned that i have too much hair like a 100 times and not in a good way....i believe as a professional that shouldn't matter...brought up some conversation topics which were very weird and did make me uncomfortable and set my bangs so wrong they are still not setting right.... and after curling them the wrong way just said as i quote " i don't know how to fix that" .. felt so weird and waste of money at the end... they did mention come back if anything is wrong but I barely get time to do this again and again.. i loved it here for a great and relaxing experience...but this makes not wanna go anymore...

It had a very pleasant experience at Avalon Salon Spa. This is first time I went there for a service. I had a hair cut. I wanted a butterfly haircut. I got what I expected... I will visit again and probably will explore other services too.

I had manicure appointments for myself and two daughters as we were leaving for a destination wedding. The service was very nice in terms of staff being welcoming and pleasant due f the service. We were told the manicures would last minimum two weeks and up to three. My polish has quite a gap between the cuticle and nail so it looked outgrown within a few days. My other daughters was bubbly and two nails peeled even before the wedding. But my oldest daughter who already has shorter nails had her nails cut down even more; two spots on the sides of her nails where they meet the skin were aggravated, she said need up with two infected fingers and the nail polish peeled off before the wedding. I’ve had manicures before and never had this happen. Again the staff was lovely but for what we paid vs what we got was unacceptable. We won’t be returning.

Very disappointing experience. At the beginning, the stylist asked me to show hairstyle photos, which was fine. Later, I asked whether I would be suitable for curly hair. She misunderstood and thought I wanted to get a perm that same day. I repeatedly explained that I was only asking for advice, not requesting a perm, but she kept saying she “didn’t have time today” and refused to listen. During this explanation, her voice became louder and louder, which made me feel very uncomfortable. Because she would not understand me, I had to ask another staff member to help explain the situation to her. After that, her attitude changed noticeably. She became rough while handling my hair and hurt me several times, especially when removing clips. I stayed very patient and politely asked if she could be gentler. She then said she could not serve me anymore and walked away, leaving me there. This was unprofessional and made me feel uncomfortable. I expected basic communication and respect, especially when I was only asking for professional advice. Such attitude should never appear in this industry. Would never return

I’ve had Jenna R for multiple appointments.. she always does an amazing job… she takes her time and is very professional! Every time I leave the salon I am beyond happy! Will definitely be recommending her to others!

My husband brought my 5 year old daughter in for a trim. Asked for shoulder length and no layers. She came home with it chopped to her ears and extremely short layers. I don't normally leave reviews but this is the second time we've had an experience like this at the uptown location. Both times the stylists (different ones) disregarded what was asked for and just went nuts with their scissors. So incredibly disappointed and my 5 year old is devastated. We won't be returning.
