Gus' Pub

It is rare that I write negative reviews of any establishment, especially since I am aware of how much effort it takes to work in customer service and run a business. However, due to the actions of the owner of Gus's Pub, I feel it is important to let other patrons know about an incident that was reported to me by a close friend. Earlier today, one of my friends went to Gus's Pub. After realizing he did not have his wallet, he asked if he could e-transfer payment for a glass of water. He was told the water would be free and was given permission to sit at a table and charge his phone. While waiting, he pulled out his tarot cards and was doing a personal reading for himself. The owner approached him and asked for a reading. When he disagreed with what my friend said, which, to my understanding, was not negative or hostile toward him, his response was deeply concerning. He began accusing my friend of being a charlatan and a liar. What followed was a series of racist, bigoted, and ableist comments that were not only hurtful but truly upsetting. There is no place where this kind of behavior is acceptable. As the owner of an establishment, he should be setting a standard of respect and inclusivity, not engaging in discriminatory language or behavior. Based on what was reported to me, I would encourage potential patrons to be aware of this incident when deciding whether to support this business. Everyone deserves to feel safe and respected in the spaces they visit.

Seems like a real pub. No fakery or vibe. A rare survivor. Loved it. Got a friendly bar tender and decent prices for good beer.
