Temperance Hotel

A very unique hotel. Excellent craftsmanship and attention to details in our room. We stayed 3 nights and nothing was amiss. Great location for visiting the shops along the Main Street and a quick 7 min walk to the park/beach by the bay. I highly recommend the bakery and try their cinnamon buns. Another 7 min walk gets you to bayview brewing for a great dinner. You can tell the owners Stephan and Denise put their heart in soul into renovating this historic building. That effort extends to their management of making sure their guests have a pleasant experience. The town of Ladysmith should be proud of having this beautiful hotel as it represents the artistic nature of the town and area. Looking forward to another visit.

The Temperance Hotel….simply wonderful :) Denise and Stefan have created a beautiful and welcoming boutique hotel in the heart of Ladysmith. We stayed for two nights in room 3 and really enjoyed our stay. The large tub in the bathroom, the two Juliette balconies and the very comfortable king-size bed were awesome. The fireplace was a nice touch as well. We wish there was some softer ambient lighting in the living space, like a table lamp or floor lamp, but considering how beautiful and comfortable the suite is, I’m splitting hairs. I can’t recommend the hotel enough and will definitely be returning.

Beautiful and very comfortable apartment. Everything you need to cook in the kitchen. Easy walking distance to grocery shop. We loved our stay at the Temperance hotel and we will go back for sure.

Our 2nd visit and temperance did not disappoint. Suite's 2 bedrooms were clean, we'll appointed and great comfortable beds. Entire suite clean and roomy. Addition of ground coffee with filters, and cereal bars is a very nice extra. We will be back!

This was our first time staying at the Temperance Hotel. We loved it. Clean, comfortable, nicely furnished, modern kitchen and bathroom. We were warm and cozy. Perfect location and good communication. Would recommend the Fox and Hounds restaurant across the street too. We’ll be back.

Spent 3 nights over Christmas at this delightful boutique hotel. Stayed in two suites, both modern, comfortable and well appointed. Excellent location on Ladysmith Mainstreet. Denise is an excellent host, and went out of her way to accommodate us for a 3rd night.

We had an excellent stay at the Tempérance Hotel. The rooms are spacious, the lounge comfortable, and the kitchen well-equipped. The location is ideal.

Excellent modern Boutique rooms and kitchen Quiet and cozy. Loved the Martha Stewart feathered pillows. Christmas in the decorative village and streets is uniquely gorgeous, charming, safe and friendly. Affordable 3 night expensive topped off our stay. Denise and Stephon were wonderful _ added thank you for the Xmas cider 💕 😀 and help with our luggage when we arrived.

We stayed at the Temperance Hotel on our wedding night, and it was truly perfect. From the moment we arrived, everything felt easy and thoughtful. Check-in was seamless, and Denise and Stefan, the owners, were only a text away if we needed anything, which made the whole experience feel extra welcoming. The hotel is right in downtown Ladysmith, within walking distance to the bakery and all the local amenities, which is such a bonus. We stayed during the Festival of Lights season (late November through early January), and it was magical. The hotel is conveniently located right on First Avenue, so we were able to enjoy the Christmas lights from the comfort of our own living room. Our unit (Unit 4) was incredibly comfortable. The bed and pillows were so good that I actually texted the owners to ask about them. The bathroom was beautiful and fully stocked with plush towels, a hair dryer, and everything you could possibly need. It’s clear that a lot of care went into thinking through the details. The kitchen was also wonderfully equipped, with a full kitchen setup and thoughtful extras like coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. It made the space feel cozy and homey while still being special. My husband and I both wished we could have stayed longer, but we had other plans calling us away. That said, we cannot recommend the Temperance Hotel enough! It was comfortable, charming, and the perfect place to stay for such a special night. We’ll absolutely be back.

We had the pleasure of staying in suite 1 during the Festival of Lights :) the building is unique and restored with thoughtfulness and care, and the suites are comfortable and spacious yet cosy with everything you could need for your stay. The beds were comfortable and sheets were super soft. Bonus that you could see the adorable Main Street of Ladysmith all lit up from our unit. We will definitely be back for another stay!
