Studio 27 Colonial

My experience at this hotel was very negative, mainly due to the complete lack of flexibility and the terrible customer service. From the moment I arrived, everything involved an extra charge. At breakfast, they charge you if you eat even slightly more than the "allowed" portion. They also charge for storing luggage. If you need to extend your stay, even for a short time, there's no consideration whatsoever: they simply charge you more, regardless of the situation. In my case, even after I had an accident, which I clearly explained to the staff, they showed no empathy or support whatsoever. Zero flexibility and zero humanity. Furthermore, there were basic problems such as a lack of towels, and when I asked for help, the service was poor, disinterested, and unprofessional. Overall, the customer service was deficient and disappointing. I do not recommend this hotel. The experience was frustrating and completely below what one would expect from a place that should prioritize the well-being of its guests.

The hotel staff was very friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout our stay, especially Felina, who gave us a very warm welcome. However, I believe the hotel's infrastructure needs maintenance, as there were some dirty areas, such as the stairs and walls, which also need painting. The jacuzzi wasn't in optimal condition, and the terrace, which is the social area where breakfast is served, could be better organized to offer a more pleasant experience. The room we booked was smaller than expected, which is important to keep in mind. As for the location, I give it a 10/10, as it's close to everything we need and has a tourist police presence, which makes walking around the area feel safe.

We spent two nights there and had a good stay. I imagine they took the previous reviews into account. We found the room very nice; the only downside is that they say breakfast is at 8:00, but in reality, they don't start preparing it until 8:30.

A lovely place, the room was very clean and spacious, and the staff were incredibly friendly. They even helped us with our luggage. The breakfast was delicious, although if I had to mention a minor drawback, it would be that we were told breakfast started at 8:00, but they only began preparing it at that time, and it didn't start before 8:30. The location is fantastic.

We came to this hotel based on TikTok recommendations, but it wasn't what we expected. The price versus quality is completely unfair. The rooms were tiny, the windows were way too small, and it was noisy—I think the hotel is next to a bar because we couldn't get any rest. There was no hot water, and the TV didn't work. They gave us one bar of soap for two people for a two-night reservation. When we asked for more, they refused, saying they didn't have any. The service was terrible, and the staff was neither friendly nor helpful. The internet signal was awful. For the price, there are much better places in the Colonial Zone.

Excellent location. I got a front room where the motorcycle noise was very loud, and the receptionist was almost unintelligible when he was giving us service.

Excellent service and location in every sense of the word. The only thing missing to make it even better would be the option to pay by debit and credit card. Aside from that, the stay was quite good; all the city's memorable places are just a few blocks from the hotel. Excellent location. Highly recommended!

Convenient for the historic quarter of Santo Domingo where the principal sights are all within easy walking distance. The accommodation is a bit dated, and breakfast, though adequate, was limited. The principal issue was that it was in a very noisy location - especially on a Sunday evening/night. It was a bit better the following night. Parking is on street and it may be difficult to find space near the accommodation. The accommodation would not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues as there is no lift and the stairs are quite narrow and steep. Breakfast is provided on a top floor terrace.
