River's Edge Resort

We were part of a 24 RV caravan (Newmar Kountry Klub) and really enjoyed the RV park. We stayed several nights and did a lot of touring during the day. Our charter bus had no issues picking us up or dropping us off. Great location to see all of Fairbanks!

Staff was wonderful and the food was absolutely delicious. We loved the cute cottages and the selection at the two gift shops on site. Lots of amenities within walking distance and such a convenient shuttle to the train and airport. Will definitely return. The manager Tye was so friendly and knowledgeable. Constantine as our favorite server at Chenas as well.

Great place to stay, clean rooms and awesome service!

The River's Edge shuttle drivers are great. They are friendly and engaging and will take you to and pick you up from many places near the resort (train station, discovery landing, airport, etc.). The location is a bit out of the way if you do not have a vehicle, yet we made do with the shuttles. The River Cottage is the best choice in our minds. Somewhere around the 114-117 Cottages have good views of the Chena River from the room. The rooms are a little dated, yet we found ours to be clean, good shower and nice beds. The front desk person from Arkansas (wish I could remember her name) was extremely helpful and friendly. Owners should ask her to train the other front desk staff in being friendly and helpful. Buffet Breakfast is adequate (3 out of 5). There is a Fred Meyer grocery store for snacks and such -- about a 15 minute walk. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here.

We stayed here as part of a Norwegian Cruise land/sea cruise. The rooms are actually small individual cottages which I liked, very basic. Mostly clean. Dated in every way. Price gouging bummed me out but I if this is how Alaskans make a living I am ok with it.

Only real complaint I have was that the TV didn't connect to wifi to utilize the Netflix feature. Other than that, was a nice stay, feel like I could offer more if I had stayed more than one night.

Nice little mini house to stay in. Nice and quiet even though it's close to the airport. Beds were comfy and the entire area was clean. I utilized the free airport shuttle service which was great and a nice way to save some money

After spending over $350 for the night, they charged an additional $22 for a buffet breakfast. That’s outrageous

Stayed here for a NCL cruise add on. From arrival to checkout, the experience was unacceptable. Our room had a pervasive, foul odor that never improved. When I reported it to the front desk, the only “solution” offered was a bottle of Febreze. No alternative room was provided; staff said the hotel was at capacity and could not move us. Our tour guide even intervened and requested housekeeping service for the following day while we were out. When we returned, it was obvious the room had not been cleaned. The front desk then acknowledged they’ve had issues with their cleaning staff, yet no one was available to help and no further assistance was offered. Compounding the problem, I asked for a way to formally escalate the complaint and was told there was no contact information available. We were given no options beyond the spray bottle. Opening windows to air the room only invited mosquitoes, so we had to sleep in the odor. This is not a minor inconvenience; it’s a breakdown of basic hospitality standards—cleanliness, responsiveness, and accountability. Being told “we can’t do anything” while admitting to known housekeeping problems is unacceptable. If the hotel cannot ensure clean rooms or provide meaningful remedies, it should not be part of an NCL itinerary. I strongly urge NCL to reassess its relationship with River’s Edge Resort and for the property to address its housekeeping and customer service immediately. Our stay fell far below expectations and cast a shadow over an otherwise special trip to Alaska. I would not recommend this hotel until these issues are demonstrably resolved.
