Memorial Park (Gay Cruising Area)

Memorial Park, the huge urban park west of downtown, has a long-standing reputation as one of Houston's outdoor gay cruising grounds, with activity historically concentrated in the wooded areas away from the main jogging trails and busiest after dusk. By day it is an ordinary, heavily used public park with running paths, a golf course and sports fields. Note that the Houston Police Department periodically runs undercover operations here and public-lewdness arrests do happen, so discretion and awareness of the law are essential. Meeting first in a bar or on an app is the safer approach.
