The Bureau of General Services — Queer Division at 83A Hester Street on the Lower East Side is the successor institution to the legendary Oscar Wilde Bookshop (which operated in Greenwich Village from 1967 until it was forced to close in 2009, making it the first gay bookshop in the United States).
