Ace Hotel New York

This is a wonderful hotel with a great tradition and prestige. I would love to stay here again. Enzo, the manager on the first floor, is very kind and wonderful.

Wow!! I stayed here for two nights. What a delight. The location is perfect!! There’s a coffee shop inside. The staff was SO KIND. The air wasn’t working in my room and they moved me to a new room immediately. I wish I remembered the lady’s name, but she was such a pleasure. Empire State Building was outside my room window.

I was shocked I stepped into my room it was a tiny Kafka-esque bachelor pad. Exposed light bulbs fine I get it but the lighting was so bleak and shadowy that when I looked closely at the wall paper next to bed it had drip marks all over it and the area between wall and bed was so vile - dust hair who knows what else that had not been vacuumed out in lord knows how long. Disgusting ran through room. Holes in sheets. Im fine with old and sinking middle of room old bathrooms fixtures etc. Slab wood table another collection site for dust and whatever else can’t be cleaned of its deep cracks. I basically put towels over every surface of the room to not have to touch carpet. I slept poorly wondering if I’d wake up with bed bugs. You bet I searched that mattress and used my phone flashlight to check myself anytime I had an itch. Man sleeping in lobby chair all day into night. The juice place is good and stumptown is too. Location great it needs a deep clean and some serious updates. The kicker I just called to check on a discrepancy on the destination fee and after the person explained he just hung up on me. Nice.

Came with parlor, but they could not even set up tvs with sound. This manager had no clue.

The room provided for accommodation was completely unsanitary, unlike the photos posted on Booking.com. There was no willingness to change rooms, which forced us to seek accommodation at another hotel, with no possibility of a refund or penalty payment. I DO NOT RECOMMEND it for those traveling with children and seeking safety and well-being.

This hotel was once the epitome of the rising industrial chic and brought with it a fresh new face to New York hotels, with just minimal ideas and industrial ruggedness but with a certain lightness to it, a new feeling. It is now turned into a dark hole that hides its decay. It is no longer beautiful. It is now wearing makeup in drabs of darkness in its rooms and lobby to hide all its flaws. Its gym is woefully unprepared and unmaintained. The elevators are dirty and dank and slow. The rooms haven't really changed or been updated for what’s seems at least a decade. The rugs in the hallways are fading and even have wear holes in them. It is no longer living up to the standards of the Ace Hotel. It has sadly become the weak link in the Ace Hotel chain, with the Kyoto branch being the crown jewel.

This was a hotel I absolutely wanted to stay at when I came to New York. I also liked its older, pre-renovation feel. I stayed here during my trip to New York. Located in the heart of Manhattan, with excellent subway access, it's in a very convenient location for both sightseeing and business. There are many restaurants and cafes nearby, and you can reach the Flatiron District and Madison Square Park within walking distance, making it ideal for those who want to enjoy exploring the city on foot. The hotel has a creative and sophisticated atmosphere typical of Ace Hotels, and the lobby was a lively space where not only guests but also locals gathered. People were coming and going from morning till night, giving it a real New York energy. On the other hand, the guest rooms were calm and peaceful, allowing me to get a good night's rest. The highly designed interior and attention to detail are evident, making the hotel itself a travel destination in itself. The staff were friendly, and both check-in and check-out were smooth. While it doesn't offer the excessive service of a luxury hotel, they pleasantly provided the necessary support. New York has many hotels, but this is especially recommended for those who want to enjoy the culture and atmosphere of the city, not just "a place to sleep." Rather than being solely focused on luxury, the balance between design, location, and atmosphere was excellent, making it a stay I would definitely like to revisit when I visit New York again.

Meh. Repeat customer but I’m done. She’s a bit warn down and tired. Rooms decorated to be vintage but are actually old and tired. $100 charge to check in earlier than 3 even though room is ready: Cash grab prioritized over hospitality imho. Stumptown is nice to have in lobby but any hotel is 2 minutes to a coffee shop in NY. Good central location.
