Golden Plough Inn at Peddler's Village

I am writing this because my recent stay was the worst experience of my life. When I checked in, I offered to pay cash because I didn't want my card charged because I wasnt able to get to the bank. The clerk refused the cash and told me to wait until I left. I repeated that I did not want the room rate charged to the card, and she promised me it wouldn't be. The next day i realized the the next day the idiot charged over $1,000 to my account, resulting in an overdraft. When I tried to explain this to the front desk, they claimed the money wasn't 'taken' because it was just pending, 🤔 showing a total lack of understanding of bank processes. To make matters worse, the manager called me like a tuff guy and was immediately aggressive. So in a away hes lucky he didnt come to the room Instead of this guy diffusing the situation or acknowledging the hotel's error, he threatened to throw me out and call the cops when me and my wife werent even being hostile. I even looked at my wife while he was on the phone and said they screwed up can you believe hes threating me. Look all i have to say is the management is horrible, there is zero customer service, and I will never stay at this facility again.

Customer service was great..very attentive and helpful. I called for heat/ how it worked..very responsive...I always was greeted when I arrived and left...I felt like I was at home, peaceful and quiet. Our room was charming old world...

Had a wonderful stay! I am a repeat customer and enjoy the hotel accommodations and the food and shops. A nice quick getaway! Rooms are clean and staff are friendly and helpful.

Had the pleasure of a four day stay! Can’t say enough of how phenomenal and fabulous the staff especially Julia Christine Tyler meg that’s the front desk now onto the room perfection absolutely beautiful incredibly quiet. You don’t hear a pin drop at night. The advice from the staff 100% right on absolutely they have nothing but excellence all around.

This was a great place to stay in Peddler's Village. It's right in the heart of the village. The hotel staff was very friendly. Taylor at the front guest was exceptional. I would stay again.

I have stayed at the GPI several times over several years and am at a loss at this point. This is the third time that the linens on the bed were dirty and not changed from the previous guest. Clearly there is a serious housekeeping issue here since it has happened at different buildings across the property. I took the time to fill out the survey I received after our stay and expressed how disappointed I was after being a customer for many years and never even got the respect of a response back. Dirty sheets are disgusting and unacceptable and something that should be taken very seriously. Sadly, it seems management could care less. If you stay at this property, check your sheets and pillowcases well!! Edited to include response to owner: Your response is the perfect example of why the situation keeps occurring over the years. Instead of apologizing and promising to look into the housekeeping issues and fix things for future guests, you accuse us of being dishonest. We can assure you, not only did the manager come up, look at the linens and agree they had not been changed, but we also took the time to fill out the survey afterwards. If you have no record of either contact, whoever had those interactions chose to take no further actions. The owner needs to take this seriously because this has been occurring for several years!
