Desperately need help right now and reached out about counseling. I was immediately asked about insurance and then told they won't help me since I DO have insurance. Rob wasn't very empathetic when I stated this has been an intimidating process, given the current political climate. I was looking specifically for lgbtq+ as I have do not feel safe opening up to just anyone. It's a bummer to learn they're only willing to help SOME of the community. UPDATE: Their response seems to be an attempt to placate or keep up their appearances for the rest of you. It is 7/30. I wanted to update regarding the response Cenral Illinois Friends left. I took some time to determine whether I wanted to reach back out. I chose to do so on 6/12. I followed the instructions provided and have heard NOTHING. I waited to update this review to give them time to reply to my email. It's now been a month and a half, and nobody has responded. I'm a healthcare professional and used to recommend this place (regularly) to patients because I had heard so many good things. The utter sense of hopelessness when your own community casts you to the side is unlike anything I've felt before.

Honestly very grateful I found these wonderful folks. Going thru some stuff without a lot of knowledge, and just kind of scared about the "what ifs" in life is hard enough but they put your comfort and safety first 100%. I would recommend anyone to them and the level care they provided medically and emotionally. Thank you!

I can barely articulate my gratitude to this group. They have, multiple times, defined the difference between life and death for me. I didn't know anything about this group, but one day, I researched the phrase, "medical transportation" as I desperately needed to go to Peoria for an urgent medical appointment. I had surely come to the right place. Hannah, who communicated with me, most graciously arranged a ride for me. On this occasion, it was Daryl, who drove me, a very compassionate and wonderful human being. Since the first time, they have given me multiple rides to Peoria for doctors' appointments. I have multiple sclerosis, and I'm often in need of treatments that cannot wait. This group has been a life saver for me.
