Wausau Pride

Wausau Pride is the LGBTQ+ organization behind central Wisconsin's largest Pride celebration, serving Marathon County and the surrounding northwoods. Founded in the early 2020s, it marked its fifth year in 2026. Its signature event takes place each June in two parts: a free, family-friendly Family Pride Festival on downtown Wausau's 400 Block during the day, followed by an adults' "Pride at Night" drag show at the Central Wisconsin Convention & Expo Center in nearby Rothschild. Beyond the June festival, the group focuses on connection, visibility and resources for a community that has historically gathered through private networks, affirming congregations and civic organizations rather than a large commercial scene. Wausau Pride does not operate a physical community center; the current calendar and contact details are posted at wausaupride.org.
