The Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa

Visiting the Azure Restaurant at the 12 Apostles Hotel in Camps Bay is a bucket list item. We opted to go there during "restaurant week" to reduce the impact that the visit would have on the pocket, and very quickly realised what a wise choice we made. The two course lunch we opted for cost R295 pp and included either a starter and main or a main and dessert with an optional wine pairing for R155. Be aware that if you opt for water for the table, this comes at and additional cost. Also note that a discretionary 12,5 percent tip is added to the bill. Meals are expensive for the average pocket, but, to be fair, it is pretty obvious that only the finest cuts and choicest ingredients are used to prepare the meals.The food is top notch; cooked to perfection and beautifully presented by well trained waiting staff. The dishes are also well chosen to cater for for varying dietary needs. Portions are adequate to satisfy, but not satiate to the point of feeling too full. The menu comprised: • Starters: Farmed salmon trout, West Coast snoek, and Saldanha Bay mussels. • Mains: Atlantic kingklip, Winelands pork, and Stellenbosch chicken. • Desserts: Hillcrest berry and caramel blondie, tropical tart, and rich affogato. ...with guests having to choose any two. The view from the balcony overlooks the ocean that's scattered with an array or massive smooth rounded rocks and I'm certain one could catch a glimpse of seals and dolphins and even whales on a good day. All in all, we had a delicious lunch and were grateful for the complimentary dessert offered to the " birthday girl" as we were there to celebrate an aoccasion. A dessert was offered to the table as well...which was a very pleasant touch. Would I done there again? Definitely, when I win the lotto :)

Beautiful location, fantastic food and beautifuly made up rooms. I was part of a planned event and Jolene is amazing.... she made everything possible even when it seemed that is was not possible.
