The Wickham, a heritage hotel building on Wickham Street in Fortitude Valley, was for decades Brisbane's best-known gay pub. Since a 2014 rebrand it has operated as a mainstream Valley venue, but it keeps a queer-friendly crowd and hosts drag and LGBTQ+ events around Pride season. Expect a pub layout with a bar, food, drag and cabaret nights, and a dance-floor feel later in the evening.
The Valley is Brisbane's main nightlife district, so The Wickham is easy to combine with other bars nearby. Weekends and drag nights get crowded, so arrive early if you want a seat for a show. Check its own channels for the current show schedule.
