Hotel New India is a basic budget hotel on KVN Cross Lane in Dongri, a dense old neighbourhood in south Mumbai near Crawford Market and the CST railway terminus. It is a mainstream hotel listed here as gay-friendly, not a gay venue. Reviews are middling: about 280 on Google average 3.4, so expect simple rooms and check recent reviews for cleanliness. India decriminalised gay sex in 2018, but same-sex couples have no legal recognition, and discretion is wise in a conservative area like Dongri. Affordable place in the heart of dongri. Nearby Sandhurst Road and Masjid station. You can bargain for rooms. Nice and courteous staff.

Terrible Experience – Not Recommended I had a very bad experience at this hotel. The staff was extremely unprofessional and rude. The bedsheets were torn, and the AC was not working at all, even after repeated complaints. The overall cleanliness and maintenance of the room were very poor. The employees’ behavior was disrespectful and completely unacceptable. I would strongly advise others to avoid staying at this place. Definitely not worth the money or the trouble.
